Sweet Treats with the Cool Treats Bundle

Hello there! Wow, we are in the midst of a deep freeze here in CNY. Today isn't as bad as the weekend though, so I am grateful for that. I think Saturday and Sunday were the coldest we've been all winter long...brrrrr! I did a Spring Craft Fair Saturday and unfortunately there was very little traffic and I'm sure it was because it was so COLD.
Anyway, today I have a really cute card to share with you that I actually CASED from the Occasions catalog. What does CASED mean you ask? Well, it means, Copy and Share Everything! You see, in Paper Crafting, it's encouraged as long as you give credit where credit is due and never claim someone else's work as your own. As long as you do that, copy away. So, today, I recreated a Stampin' Up! design team design straight from the pages of the catalog. What a wealth of great ideas! So here it is:
I had so much fun creating this card and I think it will make a great birthday for someone special, especially someone who loves ice cream. Now, who doesn't just love ice cream?
Directions:
Standard Card base of Whisper White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4". Adhere a piece of the DSP cut 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" to the front. Cut a piece of Whisper White with the larges Lots of Labels framelits and adhere to the front. Stamp a piece of Crumb Cake CS with Early Espresso ink with the "waffle cone" stamp and cut out using the coordinating framelit. Add a couple of strips of Washi. Then cut an ice cream scoop in each of the following colors: Soft Sky, Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and Wild Wasabi. Stamp each scoop with the "sprinkles" stamp using the craft white ink and adhere with the ice cream cone to the the card using Dimensionals. Cut the "chocolate" from Early Espresso and the cherry from Watermelon Wonder and adhere. Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White, cut 1/2" x 4 1/4" with the Early Espresso ink and banner the ends with your paper snips. Add this to the front of the card using Dimensionals. Add a bow to the top front using the Thick White Bakers Twine and adhere with a glue dot.
I hope you enjoyed this card and I wish you all Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Quick and Easy Baskets

Hey All! Today I have an adorable yet quick and easy basket for you that is just perfect for little bits of Easter candy.
I just love how quick they go together and all you need is an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock and some scrap DSP. To begin, I trimmed off a 1/2" x 11" from the full sheet of cardstock to use as a handle, I then cut the cardstock down to a 6" x 6" square and scored all 4 sides at 2" and 4", clipped up 4 score lines, folded all the score lines added a 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" piece of DSP to all 4 corners, brought the sides up over the center, inserted the handle and stapled into place. I then covered the staple with an embellishment. The Mint Macaron basket is using retired DSP and embellishments, however the Crumb Cake basket is using the Falling In Love DSP from the Occasions Catalog and I punched the large butterfly from Blushing Bride, and stamped the small butterfly from the Papillion Potpourri in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and punched with the small butterfly punch and attached with glue dots. Here is a template I made showing the score and cut lines.
Hopefully you will find this helpful. I also did a FB Live showing just how easy it is, so if you would like to watch as I put one of these together, hop on over to www.facebook.com/snsfromtheheart and check out the video.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Have a great day and Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Watercolor Celebration Duo

Hi there and Happy Saturday. Well, as predicted, our warm weather is coming to an end and they are now calling for a Lake Effect snow storm...can you see my sad face? Ugh, just those few warm sunny day's have me hopping up and down for Spring!
Anyway, today's card is using the new Celebration Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The cool thing about these folders, is they DE-boss rather than EM-boss. Of course, this lends itself to some pretty cool watercoloring! And of course, I used..... surprise....the awesome new watercolor pencils! I LOVE these pencils. I am having SO much fun with these that I can't get over it. I am really finding myself addicted to them and the different blending options for them. Here I used the AquaPainter to blend out the color after I scribbled the color onto the cardstock after I had Debossed the Happy image into it.
I can not recommend these pencils more highly. If you have been sitting on the fence wondering if you should make the plunge, I've got to tell you, just do it! It will be the best $16.00 you've ever spent on a craft supply. I promise! And, if you have them, and you haven't tried them yet, GET THEM OUT! Play with them! You will LOVE them!
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Nailed It Chrome Style!

Hi all! Happy Thursday! I hope you're having a great day. We are still in the throws of warm and balmy weather. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and it looks like winter will return Sunday (insert sad face)
Anyway, I have a cute card for you that is perfect for the men in your life. It uses the Nailed It bundle and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bundle!
To begin, I ran a piece of the Silver Foil paper through the Big Shot using the brand new Dynamics Embossing Folder, Hexagons. This is such an amazing effect on this card. It totally looks like chrome here. I then adhered that to my basic card front using Tombow liquid glue. I then stamped my images onto Whisper White cardstock using Black Archival ink and colored them in using my beloved Watercolor pencils and blended the color out with my blender pens. I cut each tool out with the coordinating dies from the bundle and stamped the sentiment and cut out with the die and adhered them onto the the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 1/4" x 5 1/4" and adhered to the center of the card, over the tools using a Stampin' Dimensional on each end.
Fast and Simple, just the way I like it but it still packs a  punch!
Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate that. Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts on this card.
In the meantime, Happy Stamping,

Cupcakes and Carousels and All Things Thanks

Happy Tuesday my friends. We are in the midst of a string of sunny days and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to finally see the sun! They are also calling for near 50૦F Wednesday, Thursday and Friday which is going to feel like a heat wave compared to what we have had, so I'm looking forward to that. In the meantime, I did get some time in the craft room this week and played around with some fun new product.
I am totally in love with this new Cupcakes and Carousels DSP pack. It's 6" x 6" paper and the colors are just gorgeous. The paper has a vintage feel to them while being fun at the same time.
The card base is Early Espresso cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the DSP is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". I cut the Early Espresso strip 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" and the Calypso Coral Strip is 1 1/2" x 3". I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with a Stitched Shapes circle framelit and layered it onto a piece of Early Espresso cut with a scalloped circle from the Layered Circles framelits collection. I layered that onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock cut 2 1/2" x 3 1/4". I wrapped a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Bakers Twine and tied it into a bow and adhered it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The candy dots added to the bottom of the Bermuda Bay are retired candy dots I had in my stash that I pulled out.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please leave me a message and let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look around. I wish you all a wonderful day and happy stamping!

Cool Treats Class with Stampin' n Scrappin' From the Heart

Hey everyone. Happy Sunday! I know,  I'm a day late, but, I we had our first super sunny day since I think November and I took full advantage of it. Yes, we still have 4 feet of snow (no, I am not exaggerating!) but it was almost 50 degrees and full on sun so I took Tucker for a little walk and when we got back, I was so energized that I went insane around the house. I cleaned out kitchen cupboards and drawers, did laundry and ........cleaned and organized my craft room! I changed a few things around and now I am ready to begin real Spring cleaning like washing walls and shampooing carpets. It's amazing how the sun can energize you and totally renew your spirit!
