Free As A Bird in Pretty Peacock

Hello and Happy Friday! I know...surprise post! I don't normally post on a Friday, but I told you, I am having SO much fun with this stamp set! It might also have something to do with the fact that after today, I start my week long stay-cation! Am I the only one that LOVES stay-cation? I love my home and I LOVE being home so to me, stay-cations are the best. Maybe it's because I feel like I'm not home much? Between working full time outside the home coupled with an hour commute each way, I'm away from home a minimum of 10 hours a day, longer if my work day runs over (which happens A LOT!) or I have errands to run, so, I guess that makes me appreciate home.
Anyhoo, back to why we're all here...the card.
This one I decided to use my ink pads and Blender Pens to color and I am so happy with the results. After stamping the image onto Whisper White with Stazon ink, I used Pretty Peacock for the birds, Daffodil Delight for the beaks, Rococo Rose for the flowers on the branch, Sahara Sand for the branch and the leaves are done in Shaded Spruce. All I did was squeeze my closed ink pads bottom up (the new ink pad style squeeze much easier this way) to create a pool of ink in the lids, then using my Blender Pens, I picked up a little ink and colored. Nothing fancy going on here just simple coloring. Then, using the largest of the Stitched Nested Label dies, I die cut the image out, then I trimmed off the right side to create a flat edge. The sentiment is from another stamp set, Celebrate with Cake found in our Beginner Stamper brochure. I then took a half sheet of Pretty Peacock and scored it at 4 1/4" for my card base and layered a piece of Crumb Cake measuring 3 3/4" x 5" and a layer of the 2019-2021 InColor DSP in Pretty Peacock measuring 2" x 5". These layers where all adhered flat with Snail adhesive. I then popped up the stamped layer with Stampin' Dimensionals and to finish the card up, I added the coordinating 2019-2021 InColor Faceted Dots.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to hear what you think of if you have any questions, I am more than glad to answer them.
Happy Stamping,

Free As A Bird - Flip Top Fold

Hello and Happy Thursday! I'm winding down my work week and almost ready to start my week long vacation with hubby. Nothing special planned at this point other than spending the 4th of July with my sister-in-law and her family for the annual brew-ha-ha. And boy do I need this vacation baaaadly!
Anyhoo, today I have a fun Flip Top card to share with you and it features the adorable Free As a Bird Bundle. I am having so much fun with this bundle, I can't even begin to describe it. These sweet little birds are just too cute for words.
Okay, onto the card.
If you would like to recreate this card, you can find a list with links to all of the material used down below. I would love the opportunity to serve you as your personal demonstrator.
To create this card, start with a standard card base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" in Seaside Spray, score at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8". Go ahead and fold the card in half, then fold back the flap created by the 2 1/8" score line. Next, you will need the largest Stitched Nested Label die, and lining up the end "points" with the 2 1/8" score line, use washi tape to hold the die in place. Place the top cutting plate even with the score line so that it is only covering half of the die and run it through the die cutting machine. This will create a "half cut" Now go ahead and flip the flap back. You now have a Flip Top Fold! To complete the card, I added a panel of the Bird Ballad DSP cut 4" x 5 1/4" to the inside of the card and added a piece of Whisper White die cut with the Stitched Nested Label dies. I then stamped my image from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I colored the birds with the light Seaside Spray Blend, the branch in the light Crumb Cake, the leaves with the light Soft Seafoam and the flowers in the dark Petal Pink. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut this piece with the second largest Stitched Nested Labels die and layered it onto the card front. I hope you enjoyed today's card as much as I did making it. I love using my Stampin' Blends and this card was no exception. Again, you can find all of the materials used for this card below and be sure to pop in and see us again.
