Wobble Action with Seaside Shore

Happy Saturday friends. My apologies for missing in action again. Last week, I lost my internet for more than a day and a half, and then Tucker, my little fur baby got sick with what appears to be a stomach bug of some sort...or he managed to get into something without my knowing that he should not have, but he's certainly has had his mamma worried and doting over him that's for sure. Anyway, I want to share a cute card with you that I made the other day using the ever adorable set, Seaside Shore. I love this stamp set. It's just so stinkin' cute. So what do you think?

I just love this little fish. To create this card, I did a little masking to create the round focal area for my scenery, using Marina Mist ink and a sponge. I stamped the seashell and the star fish using Sahara  Sand and the sea grass with Archival Black ink and watercolored with Wild Wasabi using my Aqua painter, I stamped and colored the bubbles with Marina Mist. On a piece of scrap Whisper White, I stamped the fish with Marina Mist and filled in with Calypso Coral using the Aqua painter and fussy cut him out.  Then to adhere him to the card, I used a mini action Wobbler. These are so fun.

They add an interactive feature to your card. In this case, the little fish bounces around. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Marina Mist and adhered the panel to the Marina Mist card base. This was a quick and fun card to make and I hope you enjoyed it. Be sure to stop by again for more inspiration and fun ideas. Please let me know what you think, I would love to know. Leave comments below, I read everyone of them and reply. Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

A Sneak Peek of What's to Come - Eastern Palace Suite

Happy Tuesday! I pray you all had a wonderful Easter. Mine was quite nice, I spent the day with my parents. Hubby had to work once again. He seems to be catching all of the holidays lately. I guess, prison guards and nurses have to be on duty regardless of the day. I know, I've worked many Easters as a nurse. If it falls on your weekend to work, well you worked. That is one advantage now of my nursing position...I have weekends off, but not so for hubby. Anyway, as much as I missed having him home for Easter, it was still a great day.
Today, I want to share a bit of a sneak peek into what's to come. Today's card is using images and cardstock from the brand new Eastern Palace Suite along with a couple of the brand new 2017-2019 In-colors, Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig!
I love these new In-Colors. They are great jewel tones, rich and vibrant and pair well with the Dapper Denim. This is part of an early release that will be available to customers May 2nd as a bundle. Then, beginning June 1st, when the new catalog goes live, it will no longer be available as a bundle. So, if you're not already receiving my newsletter, sign up to be the first to know when the bundle goes live because there will be 2 bundle options available.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a little peek into what's to come. Please feel free to leave a comment, I love to hear what you're thoughts are. In the meantime, happy stamping,
Katrina

Remarkably Creative Blog Tour - Urban Underground!

Happy Easter and welcome to the hop! This month our theme is the Urban Underground Suite. This is a great masculine set that has a lot of versatility to it. Be sure to follow along the Blog Hop using the links below to move from site to site in order to see all of the amazing projects. Currently, you are visiting my site, Stampin' n Scrappin' from the Heart, by me, Katrina Wolfe.
The card that I'm sharing with you today has an industrial feel to it because I chose to use the silver foil designer paper found in the Urban Underground paper pack and I used the silver "screw" embellishments from the Urban Underground embellishment pack.
The stamp that I chose from the Urban District stamp set, has a distressed look when stamped and I used the coordinating framelit from the Build It framelits and layered it with a second piece cut from Basic Gray. and popped them up on Dimensionals. I added a strip of the Urban Underground Designer Washi tape. I really love this entire suite and will be sad to see it go by the end of May. Sadly, the framelits  and embellishments are already gone, however, when I  looked, this stamp set and paper are still available. Be sure to take advantage of the great deals on many of the retiring items.
Thanks so much for taking part in our blog hop. I hope you have enjoyed what you've seen so far as there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration out there and you won't want to miss any of it, so remember, you are at my blog, Katrina Wolfe, so check the line up below to see who is next in the list and click to continue on the hop. And again, Happy Easter!

Stampin' Up! for Jewelry?

Hi there! Happy Saturday before Easter! Are you ready with your Easter baskets and colored eggs? I decided against an Easter Basket for my little Tucker. He's the most adorable little Shit Zu/Yorkie mix you have ever seen, but, Gamma and Gampa made him up an Easter basket, so I decided 1 basket was plenty since he has an entire room full of toys already...No, he's not spoiled at all! Anyway, today I wanted to share with you some of the versatility of our products as I know not all crafters want to stamp necessarily, (although, I have no idea why not lol) so, I thought I would show you a really cute idea to make a girly birthday gift, earrings!

These would also make a cute party favor for a girls birthday party. I just picked up some inexpensive "fish hook earring" blanks in the jewelry making supply area of my local Walmart and some "O" rings to attach the fish hooks to the Party Animal Embellishments and with a pair of needle nose pliers, squeezed the "O" rings closed around both pieces. I then punched a 2" circle and stamped the sentiments in Emerald Envy and Pacific Point. I then punched 2 holes using the hand-held 1/8" punch into the center of the 2" circle and using a craft knife, I cut slits from the hole punches to the outside of the 2" circle so that I could slide the fish hooks down into the holes and slipped the entire piece into a 3" x 4" zip lock baggie. Aren't they just too cute? The sentiments happen to be from the coordinating stamp set, Balloon Adventures which happens to be on the retirement list.
I hope you enjoyed today's project. I thought it was cute for something a little different from our normal cardmaking and occassional 3D project. Let me know what you think as I always enjoy your comments and thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate it. Happy Stamping, and Happy Easter to you,
Katrina

Weather Together and More of the Ink Smooshing Technique

Hi there and Happy Thursday! I hope you're enjoying your Holy Thursday. I didn't exactly plan this, but I guess this card I'm sharing with you today is quite appropriate for the day. Today is the day recognized as the day of our Lords Last Supper before His arrest and crucifixion which has a sadness attached to it when you think of what He endured for us as a result of our sins. My card today uses the fun technique of Ink Smooshing! I just LOVE playing with ink this way and the colors look stormy and then there's the rain.
Anyhoo, for this card, I started with a standard card base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Dapper Denim that I scored and folded at 4 1/4". I then took a piece of watercolor paper cut 5 1/4" x 4" and prepped it with the Embossing Buddy. I then stamped the rain drops randomly using Versamark ink and heat embossed them with the Clear Embossing Powder, this will create an emboss resist. Then, using a piece of window sheet, I "smooshed" ink onto it and spritzed it with water and randomly applied the ink to the watercolor paper. I did dry the ink with my heat tool in between colors. I started with Pool Party first, then moved onto Tempting Turquoise, Dapper Denim, Smoky Slate followed by a second layer of Dapper Denim. I stamped 3 clouds onto Whisper White cardstock using Smoky Slate ink and cut them out with the coordinating die. I then cut 2 umbrella tops out, one from Dapper Denim and one from Flirty Flamingo. and I trimmed out the center portion of the Flirty Flamingo and attached it to the Dapper Denim to create the 2 toned umbrella. I then cut 2 umbrella handles, one from Silver Foil and the other from the Flirty Flamingo cardstock and I trimmed off the "hooked" end of the Flirty Flamingo handle and attached that to the Silver Foil handle and attached the handle using a glue dot and the umbrella top with Dimensionals. I then cut a piece of Vellum and prepped it with the Embossing Buddy and stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink. I used the retired black embossing powder and heat embossed the sentiment and attached that to the card with a glue dot strategically placed under the sentiment to camouflage it. I then added a few Sparkling Clear sequins I got from Pretty Pink Posh to complete the card and add a little "somethin' somethin'".
I hope you enjoyed today's card and I truly hope it inspires you to pull out your ink and play with this technique. I know you will have fun with it, just give it a try. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to help.
Have a great day and Happy Stamping,
Katrina
