Another Season Like Christmas

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Wow, what a day it's been! We did a computer program upgrade at the hospital I work at for our patient documentation system! Can we say STRESSFUL with a capital S? What a process that is. Not to bore you but to give you just a little tiny glimmer, we had to shut the entire system down last night at 11pm, which meant getting every on duty hospital employee off the system once they "saved" their work. Then lock them out so no one could "sneak" back in and get them all onto the old fashioned paper documentation....this is where I chuckle, because I remember when we transitioned from paper medical records to electronic medical records approximately 11 years ago, and oh the moaning and groaning! Well now you should hear the moaning and groaning now when they have to go back to paper temporarily! You'd swear we were purposefully trying to make their lives miserable lol!Anyway, to make a long story short, we completed the upgrade about 5.5 hours ahead of schedule. Then we had to deal with the aftermath...that was the hardest part of all of this. But, on a good note, last night I had an amazing time with the ladies at the Williamstown Library last evening for our first class their. Now, tomorrow night is our class at LaRoma's Restaurant in Camden NY. I am so looking forward to it and here is one of the cards that we will be doing.

I love this Season Like Christmas stamp set. I think this tree is just beautiful and with the 3 step stamping has a 3D look.  The card base is Garden Green cut 5.5" x 8.5" scored and folded 4.25"; the DSP is cut 2.5" x 5.25" and Whisper White banner cut 2" x 5.25". I stamped the 1st tree layer in Pear Pizzazz, the tree trunk in Early Espresso and the 2nd tree layer in Garden Green. I added "snow" beneath the tree with Smoky Slate and stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and bannered the end with the Banner Triple Punch and wrapped the gold ribbon and tied a bow. I added the DSP and the banner to the card base to complete the card. To recreate the this card, you will need the materials below. I would love to see what you're creating so I invite you to join me on my FB page and if you would like to be in the know of specials, promotions and all the fun, join my mailing list here

Remarkable Ink Big Blog Hop - Holiday Tags

Welcome to this months Remarkable Ink Big Blog Hop for November 2017! I am so glad you could join me today. This month our theme is Holiday Tags. You may be just starting here at my blog, Katrina's Kreative Heart, with me, Katrina Wolfe, or you may have come from the person before me in the list. Either way, if you get off track at any time, the full lineup is below and will help you move along from blog to blog so that you won't miss any of the amazing projects along the way. At the moment, you are visiting, Katrina Wolfe at Katrina's Kreative Heart.
For my tag project, I decided to use one of my favorite bundles from the Holiday catalog, Carols of Christmas. I just adore this bundle and find that I reach for it often and found once I got going on these cute tags, I couldn't stop so ended up with a total of 6 tags in no time at all. So, then, what's a girl to do with 6 tags laying around? Well, she makes a box to put them in of course! Again, quick and easy!

Tag Directions:

To create the tags, I cut Whisper White and Be Merry Christmas DSP 5.5" x 2" and adhered them together with Fast Fuse. I then punched the tops with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I stamped the deer from the Carols of Christmas in Soft Suede ink onto some scrap Whisper White cardstock and cut them out on the Big Shot with the coordinating die. I cut the single tree from the die set from scraps of Garden Green Cardstock and adhered both the tree and the deer to the bottom of the tags with mini dimensionals. For the sentiment and the To/From, I pulled out my Hang your Stocking stamp set. I stamped the Merry Christmas in Garden Green onto some scraps of Whisper White and punched them out with the Pretty Label punch and layered them onto a piece of Garden Green punched out with the 1.75" circle punch and popped them onto the tags with Stampin' Dimensionals. As a final touch, I added the Jute Twine to the top.

Box Directions:

To make the box, I started with a piece of Whisper White cut 7.5" x 4.5" for the bottom and scored 1" on all 4 sides. I snipped the end score lines up to the intersecting score lines on the 2 short ends, folded on all the score lines and added adhesive to the tabs and folded them in creating the bottom of the box.
For the box top, I used a piece of Garden Green also cut 7.5" x 4.5", only I added a shim of approximately 5 Post-It notes to the edge of my score board and scored all 4 sides at 1". I snipped the up to the intersecting score lines on the short ends to create my tabs and I added Be Merry DSP to the top (5.25" x 2.25") and all 4 sides, (long sides cut .75" x 5.25"; short sides .75" x 2.25") and added adhesive to all 4 tabs with Fast Fuse and created my box top.

I hope you enjoyed today's project. Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration  you won't want to miss. Season Like Christmas

Happy Friday! I pray you all had an amazing Thanksgiving yesterday, I know I did in spite of the fact hubby wasn't able to join us for dinner as he had to work. I'm just grateful he gets Christmas off this year! But, as much as I missed him, I still had a wonderful day spending it with my mom and dad, my brother and my aunt. And dinner was delicious! And so much to be grateful for as I am truly blessed.
Anyway, today I have a simple card to share with you that I made using the Season Like Christmas stamp set from the Holiday catalog. I had been eyeing this stamp set since I first got my hands on the catalog, and I finally got it in my last order and today I pulled it out to play with and this is what I came up with:
I started with your standard card base of 8.5" x 5.5" in Garden Green. I cut a piece of the Be Merry DSP 2" x 5" and adhered that down with Fast Fuse. I then cut a piece of Whisper White 2.5" x 3.5" and stamped my tree components starting with Pear Pizzazz for the first layer, next, I stamped the tree trunk with Chocolate Chip ink. Then the second layer for the tree, I stamped in Garden Green ink. I then stamped the sentiment using Cherry Cobbler ink. As a final touch, I added a bit of Wink of Stella along the tree boughs.
I adhered this panel down onto the card base with Fast Fuse. I kept this card nice and flat so it's perfect for mailing. The Wink of Stella gives it some shimmer and shine but without any bulk so your mail person will surely appreciate that!
I also wanted to acknowledge Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, so I have a special from now until Monday, if you place an order of $50 or more before shipping and tax, I will send you a free set of Faceted Gems (gems will be mailed out on 12/11) as a special thank you along with another special surprise :)

Glitzy Christmas Sweaters

Hello and Happy Wednesday! It's a rainy one here in Central NY but I guess that beats snow here in this country where we often measure the snow in feet by the time Thanksgiving rolls around.
I know I'm a little out of synch this week with my posts, but with the holiday being tomorrow I thought I would post my Saturday post on Sunday, my Tuesday post today and my normal Thursday post will be Friday. Then Sunday will be a fun blog hop with some amazing crafters that I can't wait to share with you all.
Today's card share uses the Christmas Sweaters stamp set from Stampin' Up! found in the Holiday Catalog

To And of course I had to use the brand new Stampin' Blends Pens to color it in and the white "fur" and whiskers just begged for some glitz and glimmer, so I pulled out my Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

To create this card, I used a standard card base of Cherry Cobbler, 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25". I layered a piece of the Be Merry DSP cut 2.5"x 5.25" onto it. I stamped the santa sweater in Memento Tuxedo Black ink  onto a piece of Whisper White cut 3.25" x 3.5". Of course I pulled out my awesome Stampin' Blends, the Cherry Cobbler duo to color in the ribbing and the hat. And then all of the "fur" and whiskers were calling for glitz and glimmer so I pulled out my Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I layered it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut 3.5" x 3.75" and added it to the card base with Dimensionals.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Whisper White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut the sentiment into pieces and trimmed them down and attached to to the card using mini Dimensionals.
That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I would like to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. I would also like to take a minute to let you know how much I truly appreciate each and everyone of you. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Lantern for Hanukkah

Happy Sunday! It's snowy and blustery here in CNY, how is it in your neck of the woods? I'm so not ready for winter; I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet and so much to do!
Well, I finally made it back to my craft room this weekend and made this Hanukkah card using the Seasonal Lantern stamp set. We have a tendency to get caught up in Christmas and forget about our friends that are celebrating Hanukkah, so I wanted to show a little love to my Jewish friends!

I got my inspiration directly from the Holiday catalog on page 41. Yes, the catalog image is a bag, but I loved the menorah stamped in a circle, along with the Marina Mist Blue and Gold colors. Use your catalogs for inspiration, they have so many ideas to get you started. .
I started out with a standard card base of Marina Mist cut 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded in half. I added a piece of gold foil paper cut 4" x 5.25" (yes, I did cut the center out of this leaving a .5" border all around to conserve this gorgeous paper) and adhered a piece of Whisper White cut 3.75" x 5" I then added the 3 Marina Mist banners 1" x 4" and I bannered the ends using the Banner Triple Punch (for the center one, I did not push it all the way into the punch so that it would just slightly longer than the 2 end banners). I then stamped the base of the Menorah in Marina Mist ink, the candle outline and centers with Smoky Slate and the flames in So Saffron. I punched it out using the 2" circle punch and adhered it to the front of my card using Fast Fuse. I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White 3" x .5" in Marina Mist and layered it onto a piece of gold foil paper cut 3.25" x .75: and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Have an amazing day and happy stamping!
