Our second card featured Balmy Blue and Secret Sea, creating a fresh and cheerful design.

I added some pretty rhinestones to finish this card. Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest impact.

Card #3: A Thoughtful Sympathy Card


The final card showcased the largest frame in the set using beautiful Hydrangea Hue cardstock.

This design featured the sentiment:

"Thinking of You"

paired with an inside greeting offering sympathy and support.

While sympathy cards are never the easiest cards to make, they are often the cards people appreciate most when they receive them. Having a few on hand means you're ready to reach out with kindness when someone needs it.

The oversized frame creates a dramatic look while still keeping the card soft, elegant, and heartfelt.

3 Fun & Easy Handmade Cards with the Exciting Times Bundle

That’s it.

This card also mixed patterns from the Paper Medley Designer Series Paper pack:

  • Polka dots
  • Denim texture
  • Soft florals

Mixing patterns can feel intimidating, but here’s the trick:
Stick to coordinating colors and vary the scale of the patterns.

That’s exactly what makes this card work so well.

The finishing touches — rhinestones and a Hydrangea Hue ribbon bow — add softness and elegance while still keeping the design clean and simple.

If you’ve ever felt nervous about layering patterned paper, this is a great card layout to try.

Card #3: Dress Up Your DSP with a White Gel Pen


This final thank you card is proof that even the simplest supplies can create a big impact.

One of the standout details was adding faux stitching with the new white gel pen on the Pretty Peacock paper piece.

And let me tell you…
I am obsessed with this white gel pen.

It’s one of those little tools that instantly makes your cards look more custom and handmade without requiring advanced techniques.

A few reasons I love faux stitching:

  • Adds texture without sewing
  • Makes flat cards more visually interesting
  • Great for scrapbook layouts too
  • Easy for beginners

This card also used several punched DSP rectangles layered together for a fun collage effect. It’s a fantastic way to use small paper scraps instead of letting them pile up in your craft room.

(And if your scrap bins are overflowing like mine… this card style is calling your name.)

Simple Cardmaking Still Counts

I think sometimes we convince ourselves that cards have to be elaborate to be meaningful.

But the truth is:
The people receiving your cards are not judging your layering techniques or how many dies you used.

They’re feeling loved because you took the time to make something with your own hands.

That’s the magic of handmade cards.
