Soft Florals, Texture & Easy Wow Cards with the Opulent Oasis Bundle

There’s just something about soft florals and texture that feels so calming to create with, especially after a long work week. This week during Stampin’ Sundays (on Tuesday), we played with the beautiful Opulent Oasis Bundle and the brand-new SCEM Impressions Mat, and honestly… this combo is a game changer for adding elegant detail without making cards complicated.

If you’ve ever looked at layered floral cards and thought, “That’s gorgeous, but probably too hard for me,” this week’s projects were proof that you can absolutely create elegant handmade cards without spending hours in your craft room.

We created three cards featuring soft color palettes, easy layering, and lots of gorgeous texture using the new impressions technique.

Why the SCEM Impressions Mat Is So Exciting

The real star of this week’s projects might actually be the new impressions mat.

Instead of only cutting with your dies, this tool allows you to emboss detailed impressions into your cardstock for extra dimension and texture. The effect is absolutely beautiful — especially with floral dies like the ones in the Opulent Oasis Bundle.

For one of the cards, we used blending brushes directly over the impressed image to softly color the flower petals and leaves. The result looks almost airbrushed and watercolor-like, but it’s incredibly beginner-friendly.

If you love:

  • elegant texture
  • soft floral cards
  • easy coloring techniques
  • cards that look detailed without complicated steps

…you are going to LOVE this tool.

Card One: Sending Happy Thoughts

This first card featured soft Crisp Cantaloupe florals paired with Peaceful Pine greenery for a fresh, feminine look.

The distinctive stamps in this bundle do so much of the work for you. Because of the way the images are etched, you automatically get light and dark areas in one stamp impression — no complicated layering required.

A few rhinestones finished the card off perfectly because honestly… a little sparkle makes everything better.

This card is a great reminder that:

  • simple layouts can still feel elegant
  • soft color palettes create a calming look
  • dimensionals instantly add interest

And best of all? It comes together quickly enough for busy women who still want to carve out a little creative time for themselves.

Card Two: Best Wishes

This card may have been my favorite of the night.

We used the impressions mat to emboss the large floral image, then softly blended color onto the petals and leaves using blending brushes. The detail from the embossing combined with the soft ink blending created such a dreamy effect.

The colors:

  • Barely Blush
  • Strawberry Slush
  • Golden Glow
  • Peaceful Pine

worked beautifully together for a soft spring-meets-summer palette.

One thing I really loved about this technique is how customizable it is. You can:

  • keep it soft and subtle
  • use bold bright colors
  • add shimmer with Wink of Stella
  • color with Stampin’ Blends for extra detail

There are so many possibilities with this bundle.

Card Three: Hello Friend

For the final card, we used the impressions mat to create a deeply embossed floral background panel.

And honestly? The background alone was pretty enough to simply add a sentiment and call it done.

But of course, we added extra layered flowers, greenery, and embellishments because more pretty details are always fun.

The Strawberry Slush paired with Barely Blush gave this card such a cheerful, happy feel, while the embossed background added that “wow” factor without extra bulk.

This is one of those cards that looks much more complicated than it really is — my favorite kind of crafting.

A Few Real-Life Craft Room Moments

Of course, no live would be complete without a little real life mixed in.

This week included:

  • crafting on a Tuesday instead of Sunday because of Memorial Day weekend
  • stories about my very real mouse phobia
  • supplies flying off stools
  • dies disappearing into the abyss of the craft room

So basically… a normal crafting night around here.

And honestly? I think that’s part of why we all love paper crafting so much. It’s not about perfection. It’s about taking a little time for yourself, creating something beautiful, laughing through the chaos, and enjoying the process.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been looking for a bundle that gives you:

  • elegant florals
  • gorgeous texture
  • easy wow-factor cards
  • beginner-friendly techniques

…the Opulent Oasis Bundle is definitely one to add to your wish list.

And if you haven’t tried the new SCEM Impressions Mat yet, I truly think it’s going to become one of those tools you reach for over and over again.

So tell me — which card was your favorite this week? The soft “Sending Happy Thoughts,” the blended “Best Wishes,” or the embossed “Hello Friend”?

Leave a comment, save this post for inspiration later, and be sure to join me next Sunday for more crafty fun when we play with the adorable Ouch Bundle (the nurse in me couldn’t resist!).
