Dandelion Wishes with Emboss Resist

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I'm so happy to be back here showing you some awesomeness. I took a little break last week to spend getting caught up on projects and one of my biggest projects was planning my one day retreat! So, save the date! Saturday September 22nd from 9am-6pm. Oh the fun we will have...watch for more information in the very near future.

Anyhoo, I have a fun project to share with you, using the awesome Dandelion Wishes stamp set. I really do love this stamp set. I just keep finding more and more to do with it. This is another simple card that packs a lot of wow in it and features the technique, emboss resist.
To begin, I started with a standard card base in Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25"
Next, cut a layer of Early Espresso, 3.75" x 5" and a Very Vanilla layer measuring 3.5" x 4.75". Using Versamark ink, I stamped the Dandelion image onto the Very Vanilla after I prepped the card panel with the Embossing Buddy powder tool. I then coated the wet Versamark with clear embossing powder. Once this was complete, I allowed my heat tool to pre-heart for about 1-2 minutes (this prevents warping of the cardstock). Once the tool was hot, I applied heat to the the embossed image, melting the embossing powder.Once the powder was completely melted and cooled, I took a Stampin' Sponge and burnished the Dandelion with Crumb Cake ink to produce the emboss resist and flicked the edges of the panel  as well just to give it that "antique" look. I then stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner using Early Espresso ink and adhered the layers together and added them to the card front. I then made a double bow with the Linen Thread and added it to the Dandelion stem with a mini Glue Dot to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card, I would love to read your comments, so please feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below. In the meantime, happy stamping!

Dandelion Wishes

Well Hello and Happy Tuesday! Let's see if I can get myself together here. I am hoping my traveling is done for awhile. I don't know if it's that I am not used to traveling or if it's just that I try to juggle too many frying pans in the fire, but wow, a whirl wind trip to Alabama for a site visit and it completely flipped me over and had me chasing my tail the remainder of the week and weekend, but I think I have myself caught up now and hopefully, I am on schedule and can stay that way.

Today, I want to share a quick and simple card with you that I did during my Sunday, Facebook Live. I just love this stamp set, Dandelion Wishes. I love everything about it, the font of the sentiments, the flowers and sweet sentiments, it's an amazing set.

For this card, I started with a standard card base in Merry Merlot and a layer of Basic Black that measures 4" x 5.25" and a piece of Whisper White 3.75" x 5". Using Merry Merlot ink, I stamped the trio of Dandelions and the fly away seeds. I added the sentiment using Stazon ink and added the layers together and as a final touch, I added 3 large Blackberry Bliss Faceted Dots to the centers of the Dandelions.
I hope you enjoyed today's share. I hope to be back Thursday with some more new and fun creations. In the meantime, Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Stampin' Up! Sea of Textures

Hello and Happy Saturday! While I count down the hours before I board a plane for Alabama to look at an electronic medical record system for our local hospital, I wanted to share with you another awesome bundle found in the new 2018-2020 Annual Catalog. This is another set that immediately jumped out at me. Between the adorable octopus (I know, the real ones are pretty gross, but this stamped little guy is too cute!) and the die cut netting...I was HOOKED (no pun intended) and again, this card was super simple because Stampin' Up! provides the tools to make it simple.
I originally created this card to share with my tutorial coop and today I wanted to share it with you.
To recreate this cute card:

Measurements:   • Crumb Cake:  8 1/2” x 5 1/2”  4” x 4” scrap for net • Blackberry Bliss: 1/2” x 5 1/2”  and 1/2” x 3” • Whisper White: Scrap for Octopus • DSP:     5 1/2” x 2 3/4”

  Instructions:
 1. Adhere the DSP and 5 1/2” piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the right side of the card front.   2. Die cut the netting from the scrap piece of Crumb Cake and sponge with Crumb Cake ink. Adhere to the card front.
 3. Stamp the Octopus from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink onto the scrap of Whisper White and die cut with the coordinating die. Pop him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the net.
  4. Stamp the inside right panel with the net image in Crumb Cake ink, add the tall foliage in Tranquil Tide and the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink.
 5. For a final touch, add the 1/2” x 3” piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the bottom right corner of the panel.

I hope this card made you smile. I know it did me. I love the colors and the texture and the whimsy. I will be away for a few days traveling for my full time job as the Director of Clinical Informatics so I will be missing from here, but I will be back next weekend with a fun share. Until then,
Happy Stamping,
