Painted Harvest - A Sneak Peak into the 2017 Holiday Catalog

Hi there and happy Saturday! I have to tell you, I am so in love with this 2017 Holiday catalog! Once again, the Stampin' Up! designers have gone and done it again! They have out done themselves; just when you think it's impossible they pull it off! And this Painted Harvest stamp set and Painted Autumn Designer Series paper is just the tip of the iceberg. If you would like to see a sampling and you missed my Facebook live, then head on over and check it out...so much awesomeness to see over there on that video and while you're there, please take a second to like my page. I would really appreciate it a great deal.
Anyway, here is today's card I made using the Painted Harvest stamp set. This is just an awesome set with a really pretty watercolor effect when you do the layering 2-step stamping.

Instructions:

Begin with a standard card base 8.5" x 5.5" of Very Vanilla scored and folded at 4.25". Cut a piece of the DSP 2" x 5.5" and adhere to the left side of the card front. Stamp the first layer of the sunflower in Peekaboo Peach ink and the second more detailed stamp in Tangerine Tango. Cut this layer with the largest square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits collection. Layer this onto a piece of Early Espresso cut with the 2nd largest scalloped square in the Layering Squares Framelits collection and adhere to the card front. Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Tangerine Tango with Early Espresso ink and cut this out with the 2nd to the smallest oval in the Stitched Shapes Framelits collection and adhere it to the bottom right of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today's card and it gets you thinking about what you can do with this set when you can get your hands on it. The holiday catalog items will be available for customers beginning September 1st. Please let me know your thoughts on the card in the comments below and don't forget, if you earned any coupons in July, you need to use them up this month and if you place an order, be sure to use the August hostess code found on the right hand side of the screen. And, we also have a really awesome deal on Paper Pumpkin this month, it you have never tried it, now is the time, if you sign up before September 10th, you will receive the September kit for 50% off! I guess that covers it for now. Have a great weekend!
And I wish you all Happy Stamping!

A New Series - Tips For Tuesday - How to Refill Your Stampin' Write Markers

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!  I really hope you're off to a great start where ever you happen to be.
Today, I want to introduce you to my new weekly series; Tips for Tuesday. It is where I will answer your questions regarding products and how to's. So, please feel free to continue to send me your questions and I will get them answered each Tuesday.
For our first Tip for Tuesday, I want to explain how to refill your Stampin' Write Markers. To begin, you will need to gather up a few supplies. You will need your marker that you would like to refill; the coordinating bottle of reinker; a pair of tweezers; and a bowl or container.
You will start by pulling the brush tip from the marker barrel using the pair of tweezers ( this is the end indicated by the thick white band going around the marker barrel). Just pull straight up and out. Place the brush nib into the container and drop a couple of drops of reinker directly onto the brush nib; then squeeze a couple of drops down into the barrel of the marker and tamp down slightly onto the table to move the ink down the barrel. Once the ink has been absorbed into your brush nib, pick it back up with your tweezers and place it firmly but gently back into the marker barrel until it is firmly seated. Your marker is ready to use again.
I hope you found this helpful and again, keep the questions coming and I will get them answered for you each Tuesday. In the meantime, Happy Stamping!

Christmas In July - Carols of Christmas Remarkable Creations Blog Hop

Welcome to the Remarkable Creations Blog Hop. This month, our theme is Christmas in July with a focus on the brand new stamp set, Carols of Christmas. This is an early release from Stampin' Up! and will be available to our customers beginning Tuesday, August 1st; the same day as we demonstrators can begin our pre-orders from the new Holiday Catalog! Ooooh, I can not wait to share all of those goodies with you! Anyway, if this is your first stop along the way, I am Katrina Wolfe and if you scroll down, you will see the list of links for the rest of the talented demonstrators hopping along. Be sure to follow those links to some pretty amazing ideas using this bundle.
I decide to create an elegant gift card holder with this set. This bundle just screams elegance to me so I decided to go with a non-traditional Christmas color palate, Black, Gold and White to capture that elegance.
To create this card, I began with a half sheet of Basic Black, 4.25" x 11" scored at 2", 7.25" and 7.375". Using the envelope punch board, I cut notches from the "longer" end at 1" turned and punched again at 1". This creates a closure for the matchbook style gift card holder. I then folded the lower, smaller end up and secured it with the Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon. I love this ribbon to work with. It's so soft and fluid and so easy to tie into bows.
For the white insert that will hold the gift card, I cut a piece of Whisper White 6.5" x 3.75" and scored it at 1.75" and 6". I then folded on the score lines, the wide end I folded up toward me, and the smaller end, I folded back. I stamped some of the smaller images using Archival Black ink to the piece and applied adhesive to the narrow end and inserted the white piece into the pocket formed by the fold in the card base. I lined it up just beneath the bottom fold line in the base and closed it, burnishing along the area of the adhesive. Now when you open the card, it will naturally lift the gift card up and out of the card base.
Next, I cut a piece of Gold glimmer paper 4" x 3.25" and a piece of Vellum the same size. I ran the Vellum through the Big Shot twice, to cut the frame from both ends of the Vellum. For the second cut, I just lined the sides of the die up and into the previous cuts. I then dusted it with my Embossing Buddy to remove any oils from my fingers and any static. I stamped Deck the Halls with Versamark ink and added Gold Stampin' Embossing powder and heated it with my heat gun. I adhered it to the Gold Glimmer paper with Glue Dots strategically placed behind the embossed image and then adhered the entire piece to the card front using Fast Fuse.
I hope you enjoyed this card and are finding lots of inspiration following the hop. Just click on the next link below to continue along as I promise you won't be disappointed.

Happy Hopping,
Katrina
