Out with the Old and In with the New Blog Hop

Hey there, thanks for stopping by, and if you're following the blog hop, you're in for a treat. We have lots of talented demonstrators showcasing some great stuff today, and I am sharing with you the Big on Birthdays stamp set with a masculine twist. I love to see how many ways I can stretch a stamp set and this one is more of a feminine design and I decided to see if I could make a masculine birthday card from it using the retiring Warmth and Cheer Designer Series paper stack. I love this paper and as a bonus, it happens to be on the Year End Closeout list so now is the time to stock up on it if you love it as much as I do.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Big on Birthdays
Ink:Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso; Whisper White; Crumb Cake; Warmth and Cheer DSP Stack
Tools:Big Shot; Festive TIEF; Birthday Pop Up Thinlits Dies; Fast Fuse; Fine Tip glue

Directions:

Start with a card base of Early Espresso, cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4". Cut a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4" and stamp the Happy Birthday at the very top with Early Espresso ink and with Fast Fuse, adhere this to the card base. Cut a piece of Crumb Cake 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" and run it through the Big Shot with the Festive TIEF and adhere this to the bottom portion of the card and cut the bow and ribbon from scrap Crumb Cake with the dies from the Birthday Pop Up Thinlits. Cut a piece of the DSP 2"x 2 3/4" and adhere that to the center of the embossed Crumb Cake piece and add the die cut ribbon and bow with the Fine Tip glue.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. I hope you like it too. Please leave a comment below as I look forward to hearing your thoughts and be sure to continue following the links through the Blog Hop. I appreciate you stopping by and everyone else will too.

Happy Stamping,

Balloon Adventures

Hey guys! Thanks for stopping by. Today, I am using the brand new set, Balloon Adventures which is part of an entire suite of product. Awesome product at that...just too cute for words really. I decided to use this set because today just so happens to be my birthday. And to celebrate with you, I am hosting a little give away here on my blog. All you have to do to gain entry into the drawing is leave a comment below! Easy huh? I am giving away a set of the brand new Party Animal Embellishments! I added them to the product links below. They are part of the Balloon Adventure Suite and they are just so cute. I heard another demo refer to them as card jewelry and that is so true, that is exactly what they are. I just love them!
Measurements Pacific Point cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4" and 2 1/4"x 3 1/4"
Whisper White cut 5 1/4" x 4" and 2" x 3" and scrap for the sentiment
Party Animal DSP cut 3 3/4" x 2"

Directions: Begin by adhering the DSP to the bottom of the larger Whisper White panel using Fast Fuse. Then wrap the Taffeta ribbon around this piece and tie a bow to the left. Then adhere the entire panel down to the Pacific Point card base. Using the Balloon Bouquet punch, punch an Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Pacific Point balloon. Add "shine" with the White chalk marker. Next, stamp the strings onto the smaller Whisper White piece and adhere the balloons, I adhered the Emerald Envy and the Crushed Curry balloons down flat with Fast Fuse and added a Stampin' Dimensional to the Pacific Point balloon. I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of scrap Whisper White with Pacific Point ink and punched it out using the Duet Banner punch. and popped it up on a couple of  Dimensionals. I adhered this piece to the smaller Pacific Point piece using Fast Fuse then using Stampin' Dimensionals I added that to the center of the card base.
Quick and easy. I hope you enjoyed today's card. And don't forget, to get an entry into the drawing for the card jewelry, leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Again, thanks so much for stopping by to hang out with me.I truly appreciate you.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

The Winter Solstice and the Tin of Tags

Happy Tuesday everyone. Can you believe it's almost Christmas? And tomorrow kicks off the official 1st day of winter, known as the Winter Solstice; which means tomorrow is the shortest day of the year in terms of sunlight; which means after tomorrow, we will begin to gain daylight rather than lose it! (insert happy face)

Today, I would like to share a card with you in honor of the Winter Solstice. It uses one of my favorite sets from the Holiday Catalog, Tin of Tags. I just love the versatility of this set. Although it was intended for making gift tags, is certainly steps out into the card making world very easily.
I started with a card base from Whisper White cut standard at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4", I then cut a piece of Marina Mist cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" and a piece of Whisper White 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"  I secured the piece of Whisper White to my desk with some old Washi and layed the circles mask from the Seasonal Decorative Masks over it also using Washi (both the stamp set and the masks are currently on the End of Year Closeout!!) Then, using a clean sponge dauber, I applied the retired Dazzling Details glitter glue over the mask (any clear glitter glue will work for this) this created a "snowy" look. I tried to capture the beauty in the photos but just couldn't ...this is the best I could do. I removed the mask and allowed the glue to dry. Once dry, I stamped the snowflake and sentiment, both from the Tin of Tags stamp set, in Marina Mist ink. I then layered it onto the Marina Mist cardstock piece and finally layered it onto the card base using Fast Fuse.
I hope you enjoyed my Winter Solstice card. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful day.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina
