Masculine Cards Made Simple with the Waterside Retreat Suite

If you’ve ever sat down to make a masculine card and immediately felt stuck… you’re not alone.

Masculine cards can feel tricky. No florals, no frills… and suddenly we’re second-guessing everything.

But this week’s Waterside Retreat Suite makes it so much easier—and honestly? It might become your go-to for all those “guy cards” we tend to put off.

From peaceful lake scenes to rustic textures and nautical accents, this suite does most of the work for you. And in this week’s live, I shared three simple but wow cards that you can recreate quickly—even on a busy weeknight.

Let’s break them down.

1. Let the Paper Do the Work

The first card is proof that you don’t need complicated techniques to create something beautiful.

That lakeside cabin scene? It’s straight from the Designer Series Paper.

All I did was:

  • Layer it on coordinating cardstock
  • Add a simple sentiment
  • Finish with one of those adorable anchor trinkets

Done.

👉 Tip: When your paper is this detailed, don’t overthink it. Let it shine.

2. Create a Simple Collage for Interest

The second card uses a totally different approach—but it’s just as easy.

Instead of one focal image, we:

  • Cut out smaller panels from the DSP
  • Layered them into a casual collage
  • Added a die-cut Adirondack chair
  • Finished with a “Relax” sentiment

This gives the card a laid-back, coastal vibe that feels thoughtful without being fussy.

👉 Tip: Collages are perfect when you can’t pick just one pattern—use a few and make it look intentional.

3. Add Texture for a Storytelling Card

The third card might be my favorite—it tells a whole story.

We’ve got:

  • A rustic woodgrain background
  • A stamped and colored Adirondack chair
  • Little details like seagrass and a book
  • A soft linen thread bow

And the sentiment?
“Here’s to a new chapter.”

This one works beautifully for:

  • Retirement
  • New beginnings
  • Life transitions

👉 Tip: Small details (like twine or layered die cuts) add dimension without adding complexity.

Why This Suite Works So Well

Here’s the truth: this suite is basically the easy button.

You’ve got:

  • Pre-designed panels
  • Coordinating dies and stamps
  • Neutral, masculine-friendly colors
  • Ready-to-use embellishments

It takes the guesswork out of designing—and that’s exactly what we need when time is limited.

Coming Soon: Class to Go Collaboration

I’m really excited about this…

This bundle will be featured in this month’s Class to Go, and I’m teaming up with my friend Cyndy from Stamping the Wilde Way for it 💙

We’re still finalizing the details, but if you loved these cards, you’re going to LOVE what we have planned.

👉 Keep an eye on your email—we’ll be sharing all the details soon.

Don’t Miss Stampin’ Bingo Next Week

Quick heads up—next Sunday is a little different!

Instead of our usual live, we’ll be hosting a Stampin’ Bingo Night inside a private Facebook group.

Here’s how it works:

  • Place a $25 order → get a set of Bingo numbers
  • OR grab numbers for $5
  • We’ll play multiple rounds
  • You can win prizes 🎉
  • Plus… mystery stamping and lots of fun

All the details will be sent out in email, so make sure you’re on the list.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been avoiding masculine cards, this is your sign to stop.

Simple layouts + great paper = cards you’ll actually enjoy making.

And honestly… that’s what this hobby should feel like.
