The Count Down Continues with Springtime Foils

Hello and Happy Tuesday! It's actually beginning to look like Spring is going to make an appearance here in CNY! Well, it's about time that's for sure. Anyway, along with Spring coming in, Sale-a-bration is on it's way out! Really, in all seriousness, Sale-a-bration ends Saturday, so if there is anything in that brochure that is on your wishlist's, you need to make your move now. Because, once Sale-a-bration is over, it's gone, never to be seen again (unless you like shopping with unscrupulous sellers on Ebay paying a mint for something you could have gotten for FREE - yeah, I didn't think so)
Anyhoo, today's card focuses on one of my FAVORITE Sale-a-bration offerings, the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. This stuff is just gorgeous and it's a dream to work with. It's smooth, but the foiling is textured. It's just gorgeous. I spent the other night just coloring an entire sheet of this paper while sitting and watching television with my husband and the next day, I cut it down to 4" x 5.25"and created my card. For the layout, I used the sketch challenge over on my Facebook page.
We had a lot of fun with this sketch over there. (Stop over and take a look at all the other fun samples using the sketch...we have some pretty talented folks on my page). To color the paper, I used my Stampin' Blends. These are the perfect markers for this task because the paper is glossy and a bit on the "non-porous side, the alcohol based ink in the Blends allows for good coverage and will actually dry on this paper where as other markers would remain wet and wipe off when you touched the ink. Once I adhered the colored DSP to the card front of Rich Razzleberry cut 5.5" x 8.5"; scored and folded at 4.25", I cut a square from a piece of Bronze Foil paper measuring 2.25" square, cut on the diagonal to create the triangles and ran both pieces through the Petal Pair embossing folder to add texture to them and adhered them to opposing corners of the card front. I then stamped the sentiment from Hold on to Hope stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 2" x 3.25"and added the corner design from the same stamp set and adhered the panel onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry that measures 2.25" x 3.5". I popped this piece up on Dimensionals and added it to the center of the card. It was really a simple card to create but it really packs a WOW and this paper really can stand alone without the coloring, I just decided to sit and relax one evening and color....yes, I find coloring relaxing! I hope you enjoyed today's card and it encourages you to do a little coloring. And remember, if you would love to get your hands on this GORGEOUS paper, it's FREE with a $50 purchase and after Saturday, it will be gone forever. Sad, I know, but true so don't wait! Fun Folds and Pandas

Hello and Happy Thursday! Today I have a happy card to share with you. I got my fun fold idea from fellow demonstrator Rachel from Stamp Your Art Out. She actually came up with the measurements and folds for this card. I just took it and used my own stamp and designer series paper. And it came out just too cute if I may say so myself. But HUGE kudos to Rachel for coming up with this really fun fold card design. I love it and it's so easy to do. She's a genius!
Anyway, lets get started. I began with a half sheet of cardstock 4.25" x 11" and scored it at 2.75"; 4.25"; 7.25" and 8.5"; then accordion fold - see the video;
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4" x 2.25" for the bottom "layer". You are going to assemble this card from the bottom to top. I stamped "Happy Birthday" sentiment in Basic Gray ink and added "confetti" using Bermuda Bay ink along the left edge. Adhere this to the bottom layer. Then cut 2 pieces of designer series paper 4" x 4" (I used the reverse side of one piece from the Bubble and Fizz Sale-a-bration paper and they complimented perfectly) and adhere one of the pieces to the center layer, making sure to line it up so that you are covering the Whisper White layer below. Then cut a second piece of Whisper White 4" x 1.25" and stamp "Love You" in the Basic Gray archival ink and add "confetti" on either side of the sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink and adhere to the center of the DSP, taking care to ensure it's high enough to be covered by the last piece of DSP added to the top of the card when closed.
Next, add the last 4" x 4" piece of DSP to the top layer. Stamp the Panda in Basic Gray Archival ink, add the "Hi" to his envelope and cut him out using a stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelit collection and layer it onto a scalloped oval cut from Bermuda Bay cardstock using the Layering Ovals collection. For a final touch, I added a Whisper White Bakers Twine bow just under his little feet with a Mini Glue Dot.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did. I had a lot of fun putting this together. These little panda's just make me smile anyway, add all the happy colors from the DSP and you have a win win card all the way around and the fun fold just makes it that much more HAPPY! And who couldn't use a little more happy in their life? If you would love to make this card, below is a list of supplies I used. The Party Pandas and the designer series paper are Sale-a-bration products....the only way to get these is free with a qualifying purchase. These are both level one options so for a $50 purchase you can select one of these awesome options...for $100, you can select both! Sale-a-bration ends in just 9 days, so don't wait too long because after 3/31 all these awesome Sale-a-bration goodies go away forever....and that's a sad thing. Should you choose to shop with me, be sure to use the host code over there on the right side of your screen, because everyone that uses this code this month will receive an EXTRA free gift from me!
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Inky Fun with Stencils

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Yes, missing in action again, this time for what appears to have been the flu! Wow! I'm sure glad I got my flu shot back in October....I hate to see how I would have felt had I not! Although my flu swab was negative, all symptoms pointed to the flu.  It hit me like a ton of bricks in the blink of an eye and left just as quickly (thank you Tamiflu!) I'm still not 100% but in comparison...oh yeah, I'll take it!
The one thing I did manage to do while I was sick and dying and coughing my head off in the wee hours of the morning, was to play around in my craft room. I happened to watch a video by Jennifer McGuire (I totally love her style) about rotating stencils and decided to go through some of my own stencils from Stampin' Up! to see what would work. Well, one of the retired stencils from the 2016 Holiday catalog and one from the current 2018 Occasion catalog looked like they would fit the bill, so, I proceeded to try them out and I was pleased with my results!
For the Sweet Little Something card, I used the retired stencil with a piece of Marina Mist cardstock and sponged on the Marina Mist ink for a tone on tone.
I then turned the stencil 180 degrees and lined the stencil up with the stenciled image on the cardstock panel. I then sponged on Whisper White Craft ink to achieve this cool effect. I then cut this panel down to 5.25" x 4" and applied it to a standard card base of Night of Navy after wrapping a piece of Night of Navy crinkle ribbon and tied it into a bow. I stamped the bunny with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and die cut with an oval shape from the Layering Ovals collection.
While I was at it, I decided to create a second card using the current stencil from the Occasions catalog, the Suite Soiree Decorative Masks. For this one, rather then rotate the stencil, I just shifted it over just slightly to create a ghost shadow effect. Again, I sponged the Marina Mist ink over the stencil, then carefully lifted the stencil and moved it ever so slightly to the right and down a smidge (yes that's a measurement) and I sponged on a layer of the Whisper White craft ink creating the ghosted image.
To finish the card, I cut the panel down to 5.25" x 4" and tied a Night of Navy crinkle ribbon bow and adhered it to a Night of Navy card base. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, Hold on to Hope using the Night of Navy ink, punched it out with the Everyday Label punch and popped it up on Dimensionals. I then sprinkled a few rhinestones around.
Both of these cards were a lot of fun to make. I hope it encourages you to pull out your stencils and give it a try. Just experiment and have fun with it. I'd love to see what you come up with, so feel free to stop by my Facebook page and post a copy of your master piece. We love to ooh and aaah over there!

Remarkably Created Blog Hop - Easter

Welcome to the Remarkably Created Blog Hop! I'm so glad you could join us, our theme this month is Easter and we have some beautiful samples to share along the hop. Again, you are here on my blog, Katrina's Kreative Hear with Katrina Wolfe and I hope you enjoy your stop here. Today, I want to share a card I created using the You're Inspiring stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog. It happens to be one of my favorite sets in the 2018 Occasions catalog and I find I am reaching for it often. This time, I decided to pair it up with the Painted with Love Specialty DSP, another favorite of mine from the Occasions catalog and I am really happy with the results.

Directions:

I used Calypso Coral cut 4.25" x 11" and scored at 5.5" for my card base. I cut a piece of the Painted with Love DSP 5.5" x 3.25" and adhered that to the card front. I cut 2 pieces of Gold Foil paper .25" x 5.5" and adhered them to each side of the DSP. I then stamped the Daffodils in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored the leaves in using the light Old Olive Stampin' Blend pen and the daffodil flowers I used the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blend Markers and the light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend just around the base of the petals to make them pop a bit. I then cut this out using the largest Oval from the Layering Ovals collection and cut a second oval the same size from a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock. I layered the 2 ovals together just slightly off setting them so that the Calypso Coral oval peeked out from behind the stamped image on the left side. I then added this to my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut a strip of Whisper White .5" x 3.25" and stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and bannered one end with my paper snips and added that to the front of my card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a triple bow that I made with Whisper White Bakers Twine and added that to the banner using a mini Glue Dot
