Big On Birthdays

Happy Saturday! Wow, it sure is brutally cold! We are into a deep freeze here in NYS but we're supposed to warm up this weekend. Current temps are those we usually see at the end of January, early February. Brrrr! Any way, I have another sneak peak into the new catalog for you. It's the brand new stamp set, Big on Birthdays. This set is awesome. The stamps are larger than life! Really, the stamp that I uses on this cars is the size of the palm of my hand!
I actually made this card for my best friend's birthday. She happens to be 2 days older than me. We met in nursing school many years ago and we have remained the best of friends ever since. I love her dearly and plan to get this out in the mail right off so she gets it in time. So, for the instructions on this one:
I began with a Soft Suede card base cute 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" and ran it through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder
I then ran a piece of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the "So Detailed" Thinlit.
Finally, using the marker technique, I inked up the stamp, I uses Flirty Flamingo on the flowers from the 2016-2018 In-Color Stampin' Write Markers, Mint Macaron from the 2015-2017 In-Color Stampin' Write Markers and the Happy Birthday with the Soft Suede marker from the Neutral collection. I cut that piece down to 2 1/8" x 41/4" and punched the corners using a retired corner punch. Finally, I adhered everything down to the front of the card.I just love the new die and this stamp set is a must have.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment below. And, if you haven't already, be sure to sign up for my newsletter. The New Beautiful You

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by. Today I have a great new card using the brand new Beautiful You stamp set from the Spring Occasions Catalog. I paired this set up with the Serene Scenery DSP stack and I just love how it turned out. It looks as though they were made for one another. Of course, I just love this DSP stack. Every design and pattern is just gorgeous.
Again, this card was very simple to put together with just a few supplies and I have to say, I am extremely happy with it.
Card base is Crumb Cake cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Serene Scenery DSP cut 5 1/4" x 4" and adhered to the card base with snail adhesive
The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto the DSP
Scalloped Oval is cut from a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock using the largest oval in the Layering Ovals Framelits collection. The image is then stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using the new watercolor pencils and blended out using the Aqua painter. I then cut it out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes collection and layered it with the scalloped oval and adhered them down with Snail adhesive. This kept the layers from being too thick so it shouldn't require additional postage when it gets mailed out.

So, what are your thoughts? I would love to hear what you think of this card and this new stamp set, so please leave your comments below and again, thanks for stopping by.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Hey Chick!

Well happy Tuesday! I am so glad you stopped by today. I have a cute preview of one of the most adorable Sale-a-bration stamp sets coming in January.I just love this set, it makes me smile every time I look at it.
Is that not the craziest chicken you have ever seen? To create this card, I started with a standard card base from Crumb Cake cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4". I then stamped the chicken and sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the chicken using the brand new watercolor pencils also coming in January. I uses the Real Red for his "hair" and trail feathers, Daffodil Delight for his body feathers and Pumpkin Pie for his beak and legs. I then used a blender pen to blend the color. I then cut him out using the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes framelits and layered it onto the card base with the plaid pattern from the Warmth and Cheer DSP stack cut at 4 1/2" x 2" and 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". This is a quick and easy card but was fun to make and it still makes me smile. You just gotta love the chickens!
I would love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment below. In the meantime, happy stamping,
Katrina

Easy Peasy Adorable Christmas Tags with Cookie Cutter Christmas

Hey guys! Happy Saturday. Again, I find myself apologizing for going missing this week. Last Friday I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy head. Well that progressed to full on sinusitis complete with pounding headache in short order that left me not feeling up to par. But, long story short, Wednesday I started an antibiotic and I am finally seeing the happier side of things. My voice is still froggy, but, that's the beauty of blogging....you can't hear me ;)

Anyway, I wanted to share with you these adorable, quick and easy Christmas tags that I did with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. I was actually able to put these together in spite of feeling under the weather.
I began with a 2" x 3 1/2" piece of Whisper White and punched one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, I then stamped the Gingerbread image from the stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink. I wrapped a piece of washi from the Candy Cane Lane collection around the entire tag, stamped "Put on a Happy Face" above the Gingerbread man in Real Red and "To/From" on the back of the tag, also in Real Red. I then looped a piece of Real Red bakers twine from the Candy Cane Lane collection through the hole in the tag top. And that was it. Just a few supplies and a few minutes and I have adorable tags for my little great niece and nephews Christmas gifts.
Next week I will have some sneak peaks into the up coming Spring and Sale-a-bration catalogs! So stay tuned.

It's a Stylized Birthday!

Well happy Saturday! Today we celebrate my mother in laws birthday. It was actually Monday, but today, we are all off from work and able to all get together to celebrate with her. She's a great lady and loved by all that's for sure. I'm so blessed that I don't have one of "those" mother in laws. You know, the ones that horror stories are made from. She's just the sweetest lady. And you would never guess she's turned 80 years young!
So here is the card I made for her.

Supplies:
Paper: Night of Navy Cut 11" x 4 1/4"  and scored and folded at 5 1/2"; Petals and Paisley's DSP cut 5 1/4" x 4" (the Rich Razzleberry tone on tone); 2" x 4" (the paisley piece) and 2" x 5 1/4" (Night of Navy banner); Night of Navy - enough to cut the largest scalloped circle from the Layered Circle framelits; Very Vanilla - enough to stamp Happy Birthday and cut with the largest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits; Night of Navy cut 2 1/4" x 4 1/8"
Stamp set: Stylized Birthday
Ink: Night of Navy
Misc: Banner Triple Punch, Big Shot, Layered Circle Framelits, Stitched Shape Framelits

Directions:
Adhere the Rich Razzleberry DSP to the card base then layer the paisley piece to the Night of Navy panel and adhere to the bottom portion of the card using Snail adhesive. Next, banner one end of the Night of Navy DSP and adhere that to the center of the card with Snail adhesive. Then, using the largest scalloped circle in the Layering Circles collection, cut the Night of Navy. Stamp the Happy Birthday in Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using the largest circle framelit in the Stitched Shapes collection and layer with the scalloped circle you cut. Adhere that to the front of your card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed this card. I love to hear from you so please feel free to leave me your comments. Have a great day and happy stamping,
