Lovely Friends and Laurel Pop Ups

Well good morning and Happy Thursday! Well it looks like Spring or should I say Summer is finally making her appearance here in Central New York.We were seriously beginning to think she decided to vacation in the tropics and we were going to have to skip over it straight to Fall...our temps have been hanging in the 40's and 50's which is quite chilly even for us this time of year...but in CNY fashion, she is fashionably late and hit 88 today! Now, if it just sticks! What's the weather been like in your area?
Ok, well enough about the weather here in CNY, I have a pop up card for you using the brand new Lovely Friends stamp set and Lovely Laurel Thinlits. This set is just too cute and has so many possibilities.
I just love the new In-color Berry Burst. It's just so bright and cheery and it coordinates well with several of our core colors. Here I paired it up with Bermuda Bay and Old Olive and I think it just pops with these colors.

If you would like to see more color combinations with the new In-colors, be sure to sign up for my newsletter. As a free gift to my subscribers, I have included a free PDF for download when you subscribe.
For the inside, I added the Laurel pop up with banner. This makes such a great interactive card, your recipient will think you spent hours making it however, the Thinlits make it a breeze!
I hope you enjoyed today's card, please let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I would love to hear from you. I would also love to hear what you would like to see for future projects and posts. I am here for YOU and it's my desire to provide the content that you will find most useful.
Have an amazing day, and I will see you back here Sunday for a blog hop tour with some of my stamping friends with plenty more sneak peeks into the new catalog coming June 1st. The supplies for this card other will be available June 1st.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Remarkable Ink Big Hop- Sneak Peek

Hey all, welcome to the Remarkable Ink Big blog hop and Happy Mothers Day to all the moms' and furry baby moms too! Yes, I'm a fur baby mom and no, he has no idea he's not a human baby. Even when I want to craft, he's right by my side in his stroller with his chewy bone until he falls asleep! Otherwise, he wants on my lap and that sure does make creating a little challenging!
Anyhoo, this month's hop theme is Sneak Peek! And I am so in love with this new catalog that I just want it ALL! But for today, I want to share a card I made with one of my all time favorite bundles from the pre-order, Daisy Delight and the absolutely awesome 6" x 6" DSP stack, Color Theory. This paper is so rich in color and the design work is amazing with the crackle look and lots of ombre and paint chip looks, I just love it.

I'm really loving this new In-color, Berry Burst too. Look how rich and bright this color is. It literally just pops off the paper and I added a brand new embellishment to the center of my daisy. It is one of the brand new Clear Faceted Gems. I used the largest size. Look how it just sparkles!
Can you see the glitz and glam? They're just beautiful and I know you're going to love them just as much as I do. I hope you liked today's project. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts on today's offering for the Sneak Peak Hop.

Shooting Star in Action!

Hi there, can you believe it's Thursday already? Is it me, or is this week just flying by? Maybe it's me? I went back to work Monday after a 2 week stay-cation and I have been playing catch up ever since. Wow, you wouldn't believe how much work piles up on your desk when you're away for a couple of weeks! It was all worth it though that's for sure. Anyhoo, I have a cute card I put together that I wanted to share with you. I had all sorts of intentions of doing a video on this one however, Mother Nature and her power outage over the weekend squashed that idea and there just hasn't been any time since then to pull it together. (The plan now is to just do a craft room tour for you!)
To create this card, I started with a standard Basic Black card base and a piece of Watercolor paper cut at 5.5" x 4.25" and sponged on Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight ink. I was very random in how I applied the colors using sponges. I then went over the entire piece with Black Archival ink and sponge. Once I was happy with the amount of coverage I got, I took the White Craft Ink re-inker and placed a few drops into an embellishment container lid and added a bit of water to thin it out; using my Aqua Painter, I picked up the white ink and "flicked" it over the Watercolor piece to create the white splatter you see here.. Once the piece was dry, I used the Big Shot and the Sliding Star Framelit collection to create the round slider channel and popped the pieces up onto the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then stamped the shooting star image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock with Archival Black ink and colored it in with my Watercolor pencils and added clear Wink of Stella to the stars. I then took 2 shiny new pennies and adhered them together with a Stampin' Dimensional that I had rounded off with my paper snips (this helps the pennies mover around the channel in a smoother motion) and I then adhered the stars to the pennies with another Dimensional and inserted the pennies into the channel. I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock with Versamark ink after I had prepped it with the Embossing buddy. I added Whisper White embossing powder and heat set it with my Heat tool and punched it out with the Classic Label punch and added it to the front of the card with a glue dot.
'And that completes our card for today. I really hope you enjoyed this one and that it inspires you to pull out your supplies and just have fun with them. Mix colors and don't be afraid to reach out of your comfort zone. You just never know what awesomeness will come of it.
Have a great day and Happy Stamping!
Katrina
