Watercolor Celebration Duo

Hi there and Happy Saturday. Well, as predicted, our warm weather is coming to an end and they are now calling for a Lake Effect snow storm...can you see my sad face? Ugh, just those few warm sunny day's have me hopping up and down for Spring!
Anyway, today's card is using the new Celebration Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The cool thing about these folders, is they DE-boss rather than EM-boss. Of course, this lends itself to some pretty cool watercoloring! And of course, I used..... surprise....the awesome new watercolor pencils! I LOVE these pencils. I am having SO much fun with these that I can't get over it. I am really finding myself addicted to them and the different blending options for them. Here I used the AquaPainter to blend out the color after I scribbled the color onto the cardstock after I had Debossed the Happy image into it.
I can not recommend these pencils more highly. If you have been sitting on the fence wondering if you should make the plunge, I've got to tell you, just do it! It will be the best $16.00 you've ever spent on a craft supply. I promise! And, if you have them, and you haven't tried them yet, GET THEM OUT! Play with them! You will LOVE them!
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Tasty Trucks - A Watercolor

Good Thursday Morning! I hope this is finding you all well! We are in the middle of another one of our Lake Effect storms that will span a few days, so the snow is piling up that's for sure. They claim by Sunday once it's over we will be right around the 3 foot mark..YUK! So, hopefully, you are warm and snug where ever you happen to be.
Anyway, I have a cute card I wanted to share with you today, and it's using the Sale-a-bration set, Tasty Trucks. I just love this set and think it's absolutely adorable.
I used the Blender Pens to distribute and blend out the watercolor pencil and it worked beautifully. I think it has become my favorite way to use these pencils, it's just so smooth especially on the Shimmery White paper.
So, here are the directions for this card:
Supplies:
Stamps: Tasty Trucks
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"; Scrap for sentiment; Pop of Pink DSP 5 1/4" x 4"; Night of Navy for scalloped square; Shimmery White for stamped image
Misc: Layering Squares Framelits; Blender Pens, Watercolor Pencils; Fast Fuse; Dimensionals

Begin by adhering the DSP to the card base. then run the Night of Navy through the Big Shot with the largest Scalloped Square and adhere that to the upper center of the card. Then stamp the image onto the Shimmery White cardstock and I added the Hot Dog and string of hot dogs as well. Then, using the watercolor pencils I layed down an outline of color and pulled the color into the image using the Blender Pens. I then ran that through the Big Shot with the second to the largest straight edged Square framelit and popped it up on to the card using Dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment using the Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and adhered it to the bottom front of the card using Fast Fuse. Another quick and easy card that was fun to make.
I hope you enjoyed today's card share. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing from you and I wish you all a wonderful day!
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

The New Beautiful You

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by. Today I have a great new card using the brand new Beautiful You stamp set from the Spring Occasions Catalog. I paired this set up with the Serene Scenery DSP stack and I just love how it turned out. It looks as though they were made for one another. Of course, I just love this DSP stack. Every design and pattern is just gorgeous.
Again, this card was very simple to put together with just a few supplies and I have to say, I am extremely happy with it.
Card base is Crumb Cake cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Serene Scenery DSP cut 5 1/4" x 4" and adhered to the card base with snail adhesive
The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto the DSP
Scalloped Oval is cut from a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock using the largest oval in the Layering Ovals Framelits collection. The image is then stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using the new watercolor pencils and blended out using the Aqua painter. I then cut it out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes collection and layered it with the scalloped oval and adhered them down with Snail adhesive. This kept the layers from being too thick so it shouldn't require additional postage when it gets mailed out.

So, what are your thoughts? I would love to hear what you think of this card and this new stamp set, so please leave your comments below and again, thanks for stopping by.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina
