Creep It Real! - A Cute Stampin' Up! Halloween Treat Alternative

TGIF! I know I have been among the missing these past several days, but once again, the day job strikes again with insane scheduling and extreme busyness. Needless to say, there has been NO visits to the craft room this week...no crafting, makes for a sad me. On a positive note, after today, I will be on a staycation and that means LOTS of crafty time.

Anyway, enough about my whining, I want to share cute project that I made to take to the craft fair I attended as a vendor last weekend. Now, this is NOT my original design. I can in no way take credit for this, but thought it was just too cute and fit in perfectly with the Teal Pumpkin Project. Haven't heard of it? Well let me tell you about it. You place a teal colored pumpkin outside your door so that parents with children that have food allergies know that you are offering alternatives to food/candy for your tricks or treats and can feel comfortable coming to your door. If you would like to learn more about this great idea, just click The Teal Pumpkin Project to find out more.

Again, this is NOT my idea but did fall in love with it. I'm pretty sure the original idea came from Erica Cerwin from Pink Buckaroo Creations, just don't swear me to it? I picked up a package of toothbrushes from my local Dollar Tree and packaged them individually in our 2" x 8" cello bags and "sealed" them with a 2" x 4" piece of Real Red cardstock scored and folded at 2" and stapled closed. I then stamped the image from the Creep it Real stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut them out after I colored them in with my Blender Pens and Real Red ink. Punched a couple of holes at the top of the lip, used some retired ribbon I had and tied on a pair of "fangs" I picked up at Dollar Tree. Again, a very quick and simple project that can be given out without fear of introducing an allergen to a child with food allergies.

I hope this inspires you to try something different for your trick or treators this season. Until next time, have a great day.
