Faith-Inspired Easter Cards & a Sweet Candy Basket Gift Idea

There’s something special about handmade cards that share a message of faith. As we move closer to Easter, it feels like the perfect time to create projects that celebrate hope, love, and the meaning of the season.

During this week’s Stampin’ Sundays with Katrina, I pulled out a bundle that I absolutely love — the Faith Collection. It’s one of those timeless sets that works beautifully for Easter, encouragement cards, sympathy cards, or simply sharing a meaningful sentiment with someone you care about.

Tonight we made two beautiful cards and a simple candy basket that would be perfect for an Easter table setting, a small gift, or a thoughtful note to someone special.

Let’s take a closer look at the projects and a few creative tips along the way.

A Beautiful Easter Fun Fold Card

One of my favorite projects from the live was this fun fold card featuring the “He Is Risen” sentiment.

Fun folds are a great way to add interest to your cards without making them complicated. This particular design uses a unique card base with an extra panel that creates dimension when the card is displayed.

I layered Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper with Pretty Peacock cardstock to create a soft, calming background. The wooden-style die-cut cross becomes the focal point and pairs beautifully with the faith-based sentiment.

Tip:
When layering intricate die cuts like the wooden cross, apply glue sparingly using a silicone brush or scrap paper. It keeps the adhesive neat and prevents the delicate pieces from tearing.

This card is elegant but still simple enough to make multiples if you’re creating Easter cards for friends or church members.

A Quick and Meaningful “God Is Love” Card

If you’re looking for something quick, beautiful, and meaningful, this card is perfect.

The design starts with a soft watercolor style DSP background layered onto a basic white card base. A Crushed Curry oval frames the focal point and adds a pop of color.

The stamped greenery behind the cross creates the look of palm branches — a subtle nod to Palm Sunday and the Easter season.

The sentiment “God is Love” sits across the center, bringing the entire design together.

Tip:
Adding a few rhinestones or embellishments around your focal point creates movement and catches the light without overwhelming the design.

Simple layouts like this are perfect for beginners or anyone looking to create beautiful cards without a lot of complicated steps.

A Sweet Easter Candy Basket

Last but definitely not least, we created a tiny Easter candy basket that makes an adorable table favor.

These little baskets are surprisingly easy to make using a small piece of cardstock and a few score lines. Once folded and adhered, the oval cross design is added to the front as decoration.

I stamped palm fronds around the cross and colored the lilies with Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends for a soft spring look.

Then of course — we filled it with chocolate. Because let’s be honest… every craft project is better when it includes candy!

Tip:
If your basket tilts slightly after assembling, trim the bottom tabs just a bit. That small adjustment helps the basket sit flat and stand up nicely.

These would be perfect for:

  • Easter dinner place settings

  • Sunday school treats

  • Small gifts for neighbors

  • Church events

Crafting with Meaning

One of the things I love most about paper crafting is how it allows us to share encouragement and faith in a tangible way.

A handmade card that says “He Is Risen” or “God is Love” can be a beautiful reminder of hope for someone who needs it.

And the best part? You don’t need complicated supplies to create something meaningful.
