Where I've Been

Why I went missing from the web

So, if you follow me on Facebook, you know why I took a break from blogging, but if you don't follow me over there, you may be wondering why I fell off the face of the earth?

Well, in 2019 my mom became ill and was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was a really devastating diagnosis and at the same time, my dad was also diagnosed with colon cancer, so to say it was a trying time would be putting it mildly. I have always been super close to my parents. Mom was my stamping partner. Although not a demonstrator, she was my best customer and she and dad were my biggest cheer leaders for my business. And of course, mom and I loved to just get together and create often. So during their illness, I backed off from my business a bit. I still did my twice weekly Facebook Lives but I let blogging go. I also stopped making YouTube videos other than uploading Facebook Live Replays. I needed to free up time with my family to be there for them.

In March of 2020, COVID struck and I had another major life change. My job as the Director of Clinical Informatics was dissolved and I was left looking for a new nursing career after almost 30 years with the same organization. Luckily, I found an amazing opportunity in Infection Prevention for our affiliate Nursing Home. Then April 23rd my life changed forever and I lost my mom. Yes, she had been ill, but it was still unexpected at that time and pretty devastating to say the least. So my spare time was being there for my dad and my brother while still maintaining my stamping business and my own home with my husband. COVID continued to keep my work life super busy and lo and be hold, December 2020 I got COVID. I was pretty sick, but not nearly as sick as many. I was able to recover on my own and was happy to get vaccinated in January.

We all muddled along when the unthinkable happened again. August 21, 2021. I lost my dad. My heart was shattered once again when I hadn't even begun to piece it together from losing my mom. COVID kept me busy at work and of course my Kreative Hearts Facebook Family kept me together. If you don't follow me over there, you really should. I have the BEST group of women over there that I just love to pieces. And now, here I am, coming up on a year since losing my dad, just a little over 2 years since losing my mom and I'm still standing. I miss them beyond words. They were a huge support to me and my business, not just buying but always encouraging me to take the next step, watching Tucker so I could go to OnStage or OnStage Local. I could go on and on about how amazing my parents were. I was blessed beyond blessed to have had the parents that I had and for that I am truly grateful.

So, to honor my parents and the unconditional support they provided me, I have decided to make my business a priority again. So, my plan is to get consistent with my blog again, posting three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Monday and Friday will be the follow ups to my Facebook Lives on Sunday and Thursday and Wednesday will be just for good measure and fun of course. Then, once I have that figured in and consistent, I will get back to doing my YouTube videos. These will help fill in the gaps of my Facebook Lives. So, prepare to see more from me, just be patient while I get my feet wet again...it's been 3 years and I'm definitely rusty.

Thanks for listening and Happy Stamping,
