Watercolor Butterfly

I absolutely love this stamp set. It's actually a bundle in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog so you can save 15% on the stamp set and framelits. But this set is so pretty. Here is just one example using this set.
And here is the list of supplies that I used for this card:

Rubber Bands?

Yes, rubber bands! You can stamp with rubber bands! Check this out. What do you think? I used rubber bands wrapped around a clear block to create this fun background with some masking.
Go ahead, try it out and let me know how it works out for you. I found this to be so much fun. Try different color combinations. Let your creativity and imagination run wild. Below is a list of the products that I used in addition to the rubber bands (I used 3 rubber bands of various thicknesses).

Catalog Casing

Have you noticed all of the great examples Stampin' Up! has in the catalog? I sure have and oh how I would love to make each and everyone of their examples! Your catalogs can be a great place to get ideas when the creative bug just isn't biting but you want to make a card or a project because you just love to make things or maybe you need a card for an occasion...fear not...head for your catalog and pour through the pages until something strikes your fancy and CASE it...Copy and Share Everything. You see, paper crafters LOVE to share everything.
Here is an example of a card I cased from the catalog:

And here is the original found on page 20 of the annual catalog:
So this is an example of casing. You can CASE a card exactly or you can take the overall design elements and change up the stamps papers and embelishments to make it more your own. Do what makes you happy and enjoy creating and never fear, when the creative juices just aren't flowing, look to your catalog for all sorts of wonderful ideas!
Happy Stampin'

Peek a Boo

This card was lots of fun to make. I got the "pattern" from Dawn Griffith's YouTube channel, Dawn's Stampin' Thoughts. She's so creative. Basically, all I did was change out the stamp sets and it turned out great. I gave this card to my dad for his birthday in May. This is one of my favorite stamp sets and it worked perfectly with this card design. I hope you like it too. The DSP is retired, but you could use any DSP and color combination of your liking. Go ahead.. try it out, you'll love it!

Emboss Resist and Some Bubble Wrap!

Well, I played around with the emboss resist technique and tried it with the bubble wrap. I found the idea on Dawn Griffith's YouTube channel and thought it was a great idea...and it was so much fun to do....so much so, that we did this class in our June card making class last week and I think everyone enjoyed it once they got passed the urge to pop the bubble wrap. Who doesn't love to pop bubble wrap? I know I do...it takes great restraint to save any to use it in my stamping projects. Have you ever received an order direct from Stampin' Up!? OOOOH MY GOSH! They use HUGE bubble bubble wrap for packing material instead of those annoying foam beads that go all over and stick to you and anything in its path. But talk about fun to pop! Of course my little dog, Tucker doesn't care much for it...I just can't resist (get it...resist...as in emboss resist!) Ok, so I'm not much of a comedienne....but I try lol Anyway, try this technique for your self. I guarantee you won't be disappointed...it's soooo much fun and when you get all done you can POP the bubble wrap!

Build a Birthday Card

I love this new set. It offers so much versatility because you can create the layered cake with the stamps, you can mix in Washi tape for the layers or DSP. You can also make candles out of the "layer" stamps because a  flame is included in the stamp set. Just let your imagination run with this set and see just what you can create yourself. Here I used all of the layer stamps and some of the new In-colors, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, and Tip Top Taupe........I love these colors! And I added some pearls to the  banner flags and the ruffled edge of the cake plate. So, what do you think? I used Tip Top Taupe for the card base 8 1/2"x5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and layered the Whisper White piece (5" x 3 3/4") Watermelon Wonder 5 1/4" x 4".
Did you get crafty this weekend? Now that you have had time to look at the catalog, which new stamp set is your favorite?

Where Do You Find Your Inspiration?

Where is it that you find your inspiration? I find my mine from so many sources. I look for inspiration on the internet, around the house, the office and my Stampin' Up! catalogs. And this new 2015-2016 is full of inspiration. Every time I open this catalog, I find something that gives me an idea to try, or I find something I want to copy and make myself.
Today's card is a combination of copying and changing up the colors. It uses the Butterfly Basics bundle and some of the new in-colors. So, where do you find your inspiration?

Not Much Time Left

Hey there folks, we're winding down on the 2014-2015 Catalog and retiring products will soon be unavailable forever. So, if you still have that wish list you better get it now because after Tuesday, they will be gone. As a matter of fact, many things have already sold out, but there is still many stamps available yet but as I said, not for long.

A Little Scrappin'

Well I put together a scrap layout of my favorite subject...my Tucker. This was 3 years ago when he was a teeny tiny puppy. He was so cute! He's still absolutely adorable although I may be a bit prejudice as his mommy, but I do think he has THE sweetest little face. Anyway, the first photo shows him visiting his gampa in the hospital after his gallbladder surgery cheering him up. He sure does love his gampa! And the second photo shows him napping with his favorite stuffed toy, Lamb Chop lol!

I mixed some of my Project Life for Stampin' Up! with traditional scrap booking. I used some retiring product as well like the Argyle embossing folder. I'm really liking the Daffodil Delight mixed with Bermuda Bay and Tangelo Twist, I think the colors really pop together. What do you think? I added some of the Bermuda Bay sequins for a little "glitz" and I stamped the heart from the Work of Art stamp set onto the 6 sided shaped wood veneer with the Tangelo Twist ink and layered it onto a 6 sided punched Tangelo Twist piece. I hope this inspires you to mix up your supplies and just have some fun preserving your memories.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Let's not forget what today is really all about, remembering those who have sacrificed the ultimate price for our freedom. Thank you to all those who have and are serving our great nation. Your service is greatly appreciated and may God Bless you!

I'm still playing with my stamps that are going to retire on June 2nd. I want to get as much use out of them as I can before my attentions get focused on all that great new stuff coming out then. Speaking of which, have you received your new catalog yet? If not, and you would like one, please send me your name and address and I will get one into the mail to you immediately. So much wonderfulness between those little covers.......I digress, I need to focus, but as soon as the new catalog crosses my mind, I start dreaming!

Anyway, todays project uses the retiring Hello Darling stamp set, the retiring In-Colors and the retiring Banners Bigz Die and I made a triple fork bow too!

Saying Good-Bye to Some Old Favorites

I had the opportunity to sneak off into my craft room over the weekend in between weeding the flowerbed and yard work and housework. While I was in there, I reviewed the retirement list again and decided to "say good-bye" the best way I know how, and that is to show these wonderful stamps and products some "love" By using them. Over the next few days I will be sharing my examples using these retiring products. Here is today's example: An Easel card using "Stippled Blossom" and "A Million and One", both beautiful stamp sets. The sentiment is from "Blooming with Kindness" another beautiful set going away June 2nd.
