It Starts With Art Floating Frame part 2

Hello! Before we jump into today's project, I wanted to let you know that Stampin' Up! has announced their Last Chance SALE!! You read that correctly, SALE! You can save anywhere between 10-30% on select retiring product. To see what is on sale in the Occasions Catalog, click here and to see what is on sale in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, click here. The sale starts today at 12:00 PM MT/2:00 PM ET and runs through June 3rd, however, everything is "WHILE SUPPLIES LAST". Historically, once the sale is announced, stuff sells out in record time, so, DO NOT wait to grab what you want! Go IMMEDIATELY and order what you want/need because stuff while go very quickly.

Okie dokie, now that we have all that official business out of the way, I have a follow up to Tuesday's post. This here is another sneak peek into the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog with the It Starts with Art Suite of product. This card is created with the "left over" center die cut from creating the Floating Frame card shown in Tuesdays' post.
To recreate this card, you will need in addition to the center panel cut from the floating frame, a standard card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; a panel measuring 4" x 5 1/4". Since my center cut pieces where predominately Flirty Flamingo, I chose the same for my card base and panel. I ran the panel through my Big Shot with the brand new embossing folder, Button Button to add additional fun and texture to the card and adhered it to my card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added the floating panel to the center with Stampin' Dimensionals and stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 3" x 1\2" and bannered one end using my Paper Snips and adhered it to my card using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

I love how this card turned out and I love the idea of getting more than one card from a technique such as the Floating Frame technique. This was fun and I hope it inspires you to give it a try. I appreciate you stopping by to check out my blog. If you enjoyed this card, feel free to follow me by using the "Follow by Email" on the right to be notified when I post new content. New Catalog Sneak Peek - It Starts with Art Floating Frame

Good Morning! I have a fun sneak peek into the new catalog for you! It's the brand new set, It Starts with Art. This set just screams FUN! It has some awesome imagery like ink refill bottles, spools of ribbon and LOTs of buttons.
And the coordinating die set, is AWESOME! Anyway, I had wanted to try the floating frame technique that has been going around in the stamping community and this stamp set just screamed for me to try the technique out with it and here it is:

To create this fun card, I started with a card base of Thick Whisper White cut 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4". I then stamped out several of the images onto Whisper White cardstock, colored them in using my Stampin' Blends (Smoky Slate; Flirty Flamingo; Mango Melody, Night of Navy and Mint Macaron) then die cut them out with the coordinating dies.I then cut a piece of Whisper White panel, 4" x 5 1/4" and placed all of my die cut pieces on the panel, (some hung off the panel edges) then I covered the piece with Press n Seal wrap in order to maintain the position of my pieces. Then, using the Stitched Rectangle dies, I die cut the center of the piece. Then, I carefully pealed away the Press n Seal (the die cut pieces come away from the panel with the Press n Seal wrap) and applied Stampin' Dimensionals to the die cut pieces and then carefully replaced the Press n Seal taking care to line everything back into the original position.I then stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy ink on the card base along with a few random buttons in Flirty Flamingo. I then attached the frame to the cardbase with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope this inspires you to give the floating frame technique a try. It's a lot of fun and provides lots of interest. Be sure to check back Thursday, I will have card # 2 from the center of my frame. (Best part of this technique is 2 cards for the "price of one"!
In the meantime, happy stamping,

Retiform and Best Catch

Hello! I have a fun card I want to share with you that I made on my Facebook Live Sunday night. It's a fun technique that I haven't used in a long time and I was reminded of it at my team meeting by one of my team members, Brenda.
Each month at our team meeting, I am having one or two of my team present a technique or new pattern to the group. I love the sharing among us and it keeps them engaged, and this month was Brenda's turn and she presented the Retiform technique. She used the too cute for words Hop Along Sale-a-bration stamp set and it got me to thinking I wanted to do something with this technique on my Facebook Live. So, I pulled out Best Catch.
It just so happens to be my product pick for this week. It's carrying over into the new catalog, however, the bundle pricing goes away with the end of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog on June 3rd, so don't miss out on that 10% savings. Seriously!

This stamp set lends itself to this technique perfectly with all of it's different fishing related images such as the fish, fishing hat and fly. I love this set and it's perfect for the fishermen in you life. I have several.
To create this card, you will need a post it note, ink (I used Crumb Cake for the sponging and Early Espresso for the stamped images) a sponge, and a multi image stamp set. Begin by applying the post it note across the cardstock and sponge color lightly over and into the post it. Then move it around, sponging as you go, to create random areas of demarcation as seen in the photo above. Keep in mind, everyone you do, will be different. That's the beauty of hand made! Once you are happy with your results, stamp your images randomly inside the "framed" areas created by the sponging and post it note. Quick, simple and a great card! I hope you enjoyed this and if you would like to check out the video for this card, visit my Facebook page to view it here. #simplestamping
Have a great remainder to your evening and thanks for stopping by, I truly appreciate you!
Happy Stamping,

Saying Good Bye to a Loyal Friend

Hello everyone!
Yes, I am still here...life has just been pretty busy, but hoping I have it all under control and semi organized enough to put more time and effort into hanging out here with you all. I'm sure you have all heard, Stampin' Up! released the retirement list last month after OnStage (which was UH-MAZING by the way-I'll share some photos later this week) and the big shocker was, Lovely As A Tree is on that list! I know right? I'm not even sure, but I think Lovely as a Tree was introduced in 2001, making it 18 years old and the OLDEST stamp set in our catalog to date! And sadly, we need to say good bye to our dear and loyal friend, Lovely as a Tree! **sniff**

Seriously, Lovely as a Tree is one of the first stamp sets I ever purchased in my journey with Stampin' Up! and this beautiful stamp set has served me well. It's perfect when I need a masculine card, a Christmas card and anything else in between. It truly has been a loyal and trusty friend for sure and will forever have a special place in my craft room forever!.
Here are just a couple of the very first  cards I ever made with Lovely as a Tree, just keep in mind, these cards go back to my beginning, so my photos were REALLY BAD!
If you don't already have this amazing stamp set, it's one you won't want to miss out on. It's perfect for both masculine and feminine cards as well as beautiful holiday cards. It is probably the MOST versatile stamp set in my craft room EVER. So, whatever you do, grab this stamp set before it's gone forever, because I can promise, you will be sad!

Big Announcements from Stampin' Up!

Hello my friends,
Two BIG announcements were shared yesterday from Stampin' Up! and I want you to hear about it from me first!
If you have the Stampin' Trimmer, you will want to grab replacement blades right away. Because of on-going issues with the manufacturer, the trimmer, replacement blades and mats, will be discontinued effective 6/3/19 or once inventory is depleted. Sad, I know. Right now you can order 3 sets of replacement blades per order. Starting April 15th, this number will increase to 6. Over the next few months, there will be small batches of inventory arriving and it's anticipated to be depleted rapidly. When those few small batches end, that will be the end of this trimmer.
Second, Stampin' Up! is changing manufactures for its die cutting and dry embossing lines. They shared what the improvements will be for these two lines and I am excited. This is a great change from what I can tell. But when the retiring list comes out on the 15th, you will see that the Big Shot, platforms and cutting plates will all be discontinued, so, if you are a current Big Shot owner, now is the time to grab those platforms and plates while we still have them.
This announcement does not mean that the entire product line of dies and folders are also discontinued. There will be some in each category that will retire with the catalog, as happens every year, but there will also be dies and folders that will carry over into the next annual catalog.
These are really big changes, I wanted you to hear it first from me. I am very sad about the trimmer, as I know many of you will be as well. There have been several huge issues over the years with the trimmer's manufacturer, and many of us have felt the frustrations of those issues, namely blades being unavailable for long periods of time. So while it is a painful announcement, I feel that it falls in line with the position of Stampin' Up! - to provide high quality products that customers can depend on, or not offer them at all.
As for the dies, it is explained that there are subtle differences to them, but not a massive change, and it's all good :)
OK, on the 15th the retiring list will come out. We already know that the 2017-2019 In Colors will be on that list, and the items listed above. If these are items you want, DON"T wait until the 15th!

Up Coming Price Changes:

If you love saving even a little on anything, we have been told our cardstock will increasing in price along with a few other staples like the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Sponges and Envelopes with the new catalog. While the average increase is about  $0.25  - a few items like our Foil papers and Stampin' Scrub are increasing by $1. I will share more details as they come, but again wanted to provide you with a heads up. These price increases are necessary in keeping up with rising manufacturing costs and maintaining a healthy company that will be here to serve your papercrafting needs for years to come.

I will have more free tutorials coming to you at the end of the week before I leave for OnStage in Salt Lake City but wanted to get this information to you as soon as possible. If you would like to see sneak peeks of what is coming in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, be sure to follow me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/katrinaskreativeheart as I plan to do some Live and LOTS of pics...so stay tuned :)

In the meantime Happy Stamping,
Katrina
