Abstract Impressions Popped Up!

Hello and Happy Thursday! I hope you're all having an amazing week! I got to play some more in the craft room this week in between working on swaps and planning and prepping for my team meeting coming up this weekend. Speaking of team meeting, don't forget that this month joining the Stamping family is over the top awesome! The starter kit is ALWAYS the best deal in the catalog with choosing $125 in product of your choice for just $99 and free shipping, but for the month of July only, you can add an entire family collection of ink pads to your order! Do you feel like Regals? Or how about Subtles?
Maybe you're a neutral sort? Oh, well maybe you prefer to get your hands on the 10 current In-Colors? The choice is yours, but the bottom line is, you get 10 FREE ink pads! Hello, no brainer if you ask me!

Anyhoo, today's project was a fun one and I was able to get a video uploaded to go with it. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I would love to read them. So, this card is intended to make the recipient feel tons better when they open it. It's a simple card packed full of the fun factor with this tiny pop up tissue box. Yes, you read that right. It has a little pop up tissue box that literally pops up when you open the card and offers the recipient a Kleenex! Now who wouldn't smile when they receive that? Cold or no cold, that's gonna make you happy! I promise!
Ok, to recreate this card, you will need a standard card base of 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.5"in Petal Pink cardstock. Randomly stamp the "rose" image from the Abstract Impressions stamp set in Petal Pink ink for a tone on tone look. Next, cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock, 5" x 3" and using a scoring tool such as the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score the 5" side at 1", 2.5" and 3.5". Using the smallest oval in the Layering Ovals collection, cut out an opening in the 1st "wide" section that will be your tissue box top. Then, using the same "rose" image from the stamp set, randomly stamp it in Poppy Parade. Fold on all of the score lines and add Tear n Tape, one strip to the small side that will adhere to the top, and two strips  the wider section that will be the box bottom. Fold the tissue box in half, line the cut edge to the card base fold and adhere to the card, bottom of the box to the card base back and the box side to the card base front (See video for clearer instructions) - this makes the tissue box "pop up" when opening the card. Now, stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card (tip - use the tissue box as a guide to align your block and sentiment).
Next, stamp the sentiment from Dandelion Wishes onto a scrap of Whisper White and punch it out using the 2" circle punch and layer it with a piece of Poppy Parade punched out with the Starburst punch. Finally wrap a piece of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon around the card front and tie in a knot. Layer the sentiment piece over the ribbon toward the right side with a couple of Dimensionals.

To decorate a coordinating envelope to complete this project, mask off the front of the envelope with a couple of sticky notes. Randomly stamp the envelope flap with the rose image and Petal Pink ink.

And that my friends completes today's card. I hope you enjoyed this one. I know I did. Have an awesome day!
Happy Stamping,

Dandelion Wishes with Emboss Resist

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I'm so happy to be back here showing you some awesomeness. I took a little break last week to spend getting caught up on projects and one of my biggest projects was planning my one day retreat! So, save the date! Saturday September 22nd from 9am-6pm. Oh the fun we will have...watch for more information in the very near future.

Anyhoo, I have a fun project to share with you, using the awesome Dandelion Wishes stamp set. I really do love this stamp set. I just keep finding more and more to do with it. This is another simple card that packs a lot of wow in it and features the technique, emboss resist.
To begin, I started with a standard card base in Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25"
Next, cut a layer of Early Espresso, 3.75" x 5" and a Very Vanilla layer measuring 3.5" x 4.75". Using Versamark ink, I stamped the Dandelion image onto the Very Vanilla after I prepped the card panel with the Embossing Buddy powder tool. I then coated the wet Versamark with clear embossing powder. Once this was complete, I allowed my heat tool to pre-heart for about 1-2 minutes (this prevents warping of the cardstock). Once the tool was hot, I applied heat to the the embossed image, melting the embossing powder.Once the powder was completely melted and cooled, I took a Stampin' Sponge and burnished the Dandelion with Crumb Cake ink to produce the emboss resist and flicked the edges of the panel  as well just to give it that "antique" look. I then stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner using Early Espresso ink and adhered the layers together and added them to the card front. I then made a double bow with the Linen Thread and added it to the Dandelion stem with a mini Glue Dot to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card, I would love to read your comments, so please feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below. In the meantime, happy stamping!

More Dandelion Wishes

Hello and Happy Thursday! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Here in the states we celebrated Independence Day on the 4th. with lots of fireworks and picnics/cookouts. We had a nice time...it was mighty warm though that's for sure and now it's back to work for me. Hubby got lucky, he's been on vacation for the past 2 weeks and has a few more days to go actually almost a week to go yet...hmmm, how'd he get so lucky?

Anyhoo, today, I wanted to share another card I did using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set. This is turning out to be another all time favorite of mine. I find that it is just so easy to design with and is so pretty. I truly love this set.

To recreate this card, you will need:

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Dandelion Wishes; Lemon Zest
Cardstock: Poppy Parade; Pineapple Punch; Whisper White
Ink Pads: Pineapple Punch; Poppy Parade
Misc.: Gold Faceted Gems; Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon; Snail Adhesive

Measurements:

Poppy Parade: 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25"
Pineapple Punch: 4" x 5.25"
Whisper White: 3.75" x 5"

Instructions:

Stamp the 3 dandelion image onto the left side of the Whisper White panel in Pineapple Punch ink Add the "flying seedlings" just to the right of the center dandelion also in Pineapple Punch ink. Stamp the sentiment from Lemon Zest in Poppy Parade ink in the bottom right corner. Wrap the Pineapple Punch panel with the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and tie a knot on the right edge. Layer with the Whisper White panel and adhere to the Poppy Parade card base. Finally, add 3 small gold Faceted Gems to the centers of the dandelions.
