Welcome to the Remarkably Created Blog Hop! I'm so glad you could join us, our theme this month is Easter and we have some beautiful samples to share along the hop. You may be just getting started here on my blog, Katrina's Kreative Heart or you may have arrived from the blog before me. If at anytime you get lost or are unsure where to go next, just look below and use the links to move from blog to blog. There is a complete list of bloggers linked below. Again, you are here on my blog, Katrina's Kreative Hear with Katrina Wolfe and I hope you enjoy your stop here. Today, I want to share a card I created using the You're Inspiring stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog. It happens to be one of my favorite sets in the 2018 Occasions catalog and I find I am reaching for it often. This time, I decided to pair it up with the Painted with Love Specialty DSP, another favorite of mine from the Occasions catalog and I am really happy with the results.

Directions:

I used Calypso Coral cut 4.25" x 11" and scored at 5.5" for my card base. I cut a piece of the Painted with Love DSP 5.5" x 3.25" and adhered that to the card front. I cut 2 pieces of Gold Foil paper .25" x 5.5" and adhered them to each side of the DSP. I then stamped the Daffodils in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored the leaves in using the light Old Olive Stampin' Blend pen and the daffodil flowers I used the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blend Markers and the light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend just around the base of the petals to make them pop a bit. I then cut this out using the largest Oval from the Layering Ovals collection and cut a second oval the same size from a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock. I layered the 2 ovals together just slightly off setting them so that the Calypso Coral oval peeked out from behind the stamped image on the left side. I then added this to my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut a strip of Whisper White .5" x 3.25" and stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and bannered one end with my paper snips and added that to the front of my card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a triple bow that I made with Whisper White Bakers Twine and added that to the banner using a mini Glue Dot

Thanks so much for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and lots of inspiration that you just won't want to miss, so continue along using the links below. Remember, you're currently on my blog, Katrina's Kreative Heart with Katrina Wolfe.

Clean and Simple with Hanging Garden

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Today, I want to share with you a quick, clean and simple card I put together using the Hanging Garden stamp set found in the new Spring Occasions catalog. It's a card that you can very easily re-create with little to no effort and yet, it still has a bit of elegance about it being black and white.
But, before I get into all the details about the card, I want to update you on the fact that we are in the last days of being able to get in on the Paper Pumpkin 5 year Anniversary Celebration. If you would like to get in on this party, you must subscribe by 11:50 PM MT Saturday night! Even if you're not 100% sure you will like Paper Pumpkin (trust me, you'll love it), get a 1 month pre-paid subscription for $20 so you can at least try it out AND get in on the FREE gift being included in the March box (did I mention the Anniversary box is going to be a special design?) Or, better yet, do a 3 month pre-paid subscription and qualify for a FREE Sale-a-bration level 1 choice! Interested? Click Here to shop Paper Pumpkin.
Now for the card.

Instructions:

I started with a basic A2 card base of Whisper White, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4". I adhered a piece of the Petal Passions DSP, cut 2 1/8" x 5 1/2" to the center of the card front with Snail® adhesive and wrapped the card front with the Whisper White 1/4" Organza ribbon and tied it into a bow. I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the lower right corner and then I stamped the hanging flower pot image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock in the same ink and punched it out using the 2" Circle punch and layered it onto a piece of Basic Black that I punched out using the Starburst punch. I added some Dimensionals and added it to the card front. And that completed this card.
As I stated, it's quick, it's clean and it's very simple. If you would like to recreate this card, all of the materials are listed below and can be obtained through my online store just by clicking the links. If you enjoyed this card and would like to receive tutorials much like it, please join my mailing list by clicking here.
I would love to hear your comments, so please feel free to leave them below as well and I wish you all an amazing day!
Happy Stamping!

My Top Five Must Haves for Stamp/Card Class

Hey all, Happy Sunday! I hope you're off to a great start to your week. I guess I'm headed out bowling here shortly...that aught to be a site! I've only bowled once in my life and that was over 20 years ago....oh the things I get dragged into!
Anyhoo, today I want to address a question I have been getting lately. What should I bring to a stamp/card class? Well, there are 5 basic essentials you should always have when paper crafting, whether you're taking a scrapbook class, a card making class or making 3D projects such as boxes and bags and they are as follows (in no order of importance- they are all equally important in my opinion)

1. Paper Snips:

Paper Snips are sharp, fine detail scissors that allow you to cut and trim small details from you paper. They are perfect for fussy cutting out images and getting into those tight little spaces of an image.

2. Paper Piercing Tool:

The Paper Piercing Tool, aka, the pokey tool (I prefer pokey tool myself) is not only the perfect tool for paper piercing (which is a great way to add texture and interest to your paper project, but it's a great tool for picking up and placing those tiny embellishments such as gems and pearls. It allows you to get under the embellishment and lift it with the glue dot under it and easily place it with precision in the place you want the embellishment.

3. Bone Folder:

The bone folder is an essential tool for your paper crafting arsenal. It allows you to fold and deeply crease your paper, creating nice clean edges for your cards and is a mandatory tool when making boxes and bags in order to achieve those crucial crisp folds and edges.

4. Snail Adhesive:

Snail adhesive is a tape runner. It provides a fairly strong bond between paper layers and requires zero dry time. It's convenient to use and easy and economical.

5. Liquid Multipurpose Glue:

Liquid Multipurpose Glue is another essential. Sometimes, having a little lead time before the glue is completely dry is necessary in order to get good alignment. Multipurpose glue is also a stronger bond once dry, making it a great choice when making things such as boxes and bags where the item will get more "wear and tear", so this would be my go to adhesive in those instances.

I hope this has helped you out in knowing what tools should be your "first order" when attending card/stamp classes as these essentials will make your experience much smoother and easier. If you would like to get your must haves kit right now, use the links below, be sure to use the host code to the right of this post when checking out. All March orders receive a free gift from me!

You're Inspiring! for Easter

Happy Tuesday! Well it's beginning to feel and look a bit like Spring is trying to make an early emergence, which is quite strange for this area...but I will take it, and that is what inspired me to share this card with you as Easter is upon us and I just love this new stamp set found in the Spring Occasions catalog.
One of my most favorite flowers are the Daffodils, they're so cheery and happy in their sunny yellow "coats" and their amazing strength to emerge from under winters blanket at the first hint of Spring. And of course, hence my love for this stamp set. To make this stamp set even more awesome, is that it is great line image art for coloring, making it a perfect set to use Stampin' Blends to color, and that is just what I did! I pulled out my Daffodil Delight markers, the light Old Olive and the light Calypso Coral.
I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the leaves with the light Old Olive. I then colored the flowers with the light shade of Daffodil Delight and added the dark shade inside the trumpet and at the base of the trumpet and petals. Then, to add depth and a pop of color, I added the light Calypso Coral to the petal bases and slightly up the trumpet base. For the full tutorial PDF, download it here. I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I have. It truly is one of my favorite stamp sets and I am so ready to think Spring!
Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below, I would love to hear them, and if you enjoyed this tutorial, please join my mailing list to get more great tutorials just like it, weekly.
Happy Stamping,
