Happy Valentine's Day with the Designer Tin of Cards

Happy Valentine's Day! Have you got your Valentines made out? I think I'm all set, I left hubby's card on the coffee table for him last night so he would find it when he got home from work late last night. We work opposite shifts so we don't see too much of each other, so I get creative. I also slipped a little Valentine treat bag into his lunch box so he'll find it when he packs his lunch later today. Anyway, I decided to make one last Valentine for today using the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set and the Sending Love DSP stack.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Designer Tin of Cards
Paper: Thick Whisper White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; Sending Love DSP 1 1/2" x 4 3/4" and 2" x 4 1/4"; Real Red 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"; Scrap Whisper White for Sentiment
Ink: Real Red
Misc: 2" Circle Punch; Triple Banner Punch; Basic Pearls; Fast Fuse; Stampin' Dimensionals

Directions:
Adhere the DSP to the card using Fast Fuse. Banner one end of the Real Red cardstock and adhere to the card. Stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink and add the strip of hearts below. Punch the sentiment out using the 2" circle punch and adhere to the card with Dimensionals. Add a strip of Basic Pearls to the Real Red Banner.
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please feel free to leave a comment. Until next time. Have a great day and Happy Valentines Day.
Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Heartfelt Sympathy and Giving Hearts

Happy Thursday! And happy it is! I love the 2nd Thursday of every month because it's card class with some pretty awesome ladies. And today's class is extra special. One of the ladies that comes to class works on our extended care unit within our hospital and she had mentioned to me last week that the residents were in need of Birthday and Sympathy card and that got me to thinking, what if we did a couple of Birthday card designs and a Sympathy card for our normal total of 3 cards and donate them to the seniors on our long term care unit? In return, class would be free as I would donate the materials and we could spread a little joy...well did these ladies rise to the occasion! Not only have they agreed to do this but some of them have actually made extra cards on their own! Talk about some really awesome people that I am so honored to know and stamp with.
So, today, I am sharing with you the Sympathy card design that I did for this evenings class. It is using the Sale-a-Bration DSP, Inside the Lines. This paper was designed for the purpose of watercoloring with the new watercolor pencils, however, I wanted to show how beautiful it is left in it's natural black and white. And this card does in fact show that.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Heartfelt Sympathy
Paper:Basic Black 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"; Inside the Lines DSP 5 1/4" x 4"; Whisper White 4" x 3"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Misc: Basic Pearls; Fast Fuse

Directions:
Adhere the DSP to the card base. Stamp the image onto the Whisper White and layer it onto the Basic Black and attach to the card. Attach 3 of the tiny pearls to the upper right corner of the stamped Whisper White.

Very quick, very simple and very elegant while conveying a most heartfelt sympathy for someone your care for. I hope you liked this card. Its one of those designs you hope you never have to use, but unfortunately we find we need.

Please feel free to leave a comment and I wish you all a wonderful day!
Happy Stamping!

All Things Thanks for Sale-a-Bration

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I got the opportunity to play around in my craft room over the weekend and I pulled out some of my new Sale-a-Bration stamp sets along with the new All Things Thanks from the Occasions catalog. I just love how this card came out and I hope you do too! I usually try to keep it to one and no more than 2 stamp sets, but I pushed it to 3 on this card and it just worked. So, here it is:
Supplies:
Stamps Sets: All Things Thanks; Avant Garden; Delicate Details
Paper: Watermelon Wonder 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4" and 2 1/4" x 5"; Crumb Cake 2 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Ink: Crumb Cake; Watermelon Wonder; Cucumber Crush
Misc: 5/8" Burlap Ribbon; Fast Fuse; Stampin' Dimensionals; Mini Glue Dots

Directions:
Begin by stamping the delicate lace image in Crumb Cake ink onto the lower portion of the larger Whisper White piece. (I placed my cut piece of Crumb Cake down and used a pencil to lightly mark where I wanted the top of the lace to fall) Then, I stamped the sentiment from the All Things Thanks in Crumb Cake onto the right side of the smaller Whisper White piece. Then, stamp the solid flower from Avant Garden in Watermelon ink followed by the stem using the Cucumber Crush. Layer this onto the Crumb Cake cardstock piece with Fast Fuse and adhere to the larger Whisper White piece lining it up just above the lace image. Adhere the entire panel to the card base using Dimensionals. Pull a couple of fibers from the Burlap Ribbon and tie a bow and adhere with a glue dot.
I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did making it. I so love the quality of Stampin' Up! and I love how you can coordinate so many different sets to come up with a great card. And, just as a side note, if you LOVE the Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush as much as I do, grab them now before they are officially announced as retiring around mid-April. Once that happens, they will fly out the door and once they're gone, they're gone and trust me, In-Colors don't last long once the retirement gets announced. Trust me!
Well, thanks so much for stopping by. Please leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts on this one. Again, I really look forward to hearing your thoughts. Have a great day and Happy Stamping,
Katrina

Cool Treats and Sweets

Happy Saturday! Wow, the snow continues to pile up around here and it's beginning to feel like it may never stop? So, to start thinking warm weather, I decided to pull out the Cool Treats suite of product for my sketch challenge taking place over on my Facebook page. (feel free to join us!)
and it totally fit the bill. I am really happy with how this card turned out.
Now, doesn't this make you think warm summer evenings hanging out on the front porch listening to the birds sing and the peepers peep? Sorry, I got lost in my own thoughts there for a minute. Can you tell I'm REALLY wishing Spring would hurry in?
Here is what you'll need to recreate this card:
Supplies:
Stamps: Cool Treats
Paper: Peekaboo Peach 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded 4 1/4" and scrap for ice cream scoop; Tasty Treats DSP 4" x 5 1/4"; Watermelon Wonder (2) 1/2" x 3 3/4" and scrap for ice cream scoop; Pool Party 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" and scrap for ice cream scoop; Whisper White 3 1/2" square; Scrap Crumb Cake for the ice cream dish; Scrap of Early Espresso for chocolate topping; scrap Silver Foil paper for spoon
Ink: Watermelon Wonder
Misc: Frozen Treats Framelits; Banner Triple punch; Big Shot; Wink of Stella Clear; Fast Fuse; Fine Tip Glue pen; Stampin' Dimensionals

Directions:
Adhere the DSP to the card base. Add the Watermelon Wonder strips and banner one end of the Pool Party piece and adhere to the card front. Stamp the sentiment to the bottom of the Whisper White square in Watermelon Wonder ink. Cut out the ice cream dish with the Crumb Cake cardstock and adhere just above the sentiment. Now cut out a total of 3 ice cream scoops, 1 each from Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder, nest cut out 3 of the "fudge" toppings and adhere to each of the scoops and cut out the spoon. (Tip: when cutting out the spoon, if you like the dimensional look that I got, turn the Silver Metalic paper shiny side down when cutting it, and I placed a piece of waxed paper between the paper and the plate of the Big Shot to prevent transference of the cut lines into the paper - this provided a nice smooth spoon but it also created a curvature in the spoon), pile the ice cream into the dish, add the spoon with some Fine Tip Glue and adhere the panel onto the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, paint the "fudge" with the Clear Wink of Stella.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Again, please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts, I truly enjoy knowing what you think.
Happy Stamping and keep warm!
Katrina
