Half Triangle Flocked Snowflake Specialty Vellum Card

Half triangle flocked card
Hey friends, I'm back today with another fun card featuring the beautiful Snowflake Vellum and Hope and Peace stamp set. This card was totally inspired by Selene Kempton, a fellow demonstrator.

If you have ever dabbled in quilting, then you know all about the "half triangle", but it's a great layout for cards too! Just cut a layer 4" x 5 1/4" then slice on the diagonal. You now have a piece for 2 separate cards.

I did punch a Smoky Slate "decorative circle" to place behind the Beautiful Snowflake to make it pop a little. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point and I sprinkled a few Sparkling Adhesive-backed gems to finish it off and I love how it came out.

Below you will find the full list of supplies and they are linked to my store for easy shopping. I hope these cards this week inspire you to get crafty and create!

More Perched in a Tree Ideas for You

Well, I'm back! Oh what a day! Of course it started out like any other day, however, on my way to work, I was detoured off my normal route due to road construction into Amish Country and at the same time a cow managed to get loose from his pen/pasture and lo and behold, I hit a cow! I'm still in shock! I have had encounters with deer before, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would hit a COW!!! Anyhoo, to make a long story short, I'm ok, my Jeep, not so much, She got a flat bed ride to the collision repair shop and I have a rental. It's nice (Honda CRV) but it's just not my baby!

Perched in a Tree Pool Party

So, here is the latest card I made featuring the Perched in a Tree bundle. I love how this card came out.

Christmas in the Making

Happy Sunday! I hope you're all enjoying a quiet Sunday with family and friends. Tucker and I are enjoying a quiet afternoon. Unfortunately, had to send hubby off to work this afternoon so it's just us. But, on a positive note, the laundry is all caught up, the house looks pretty spiffy and is ready for the Christmas decorating to commence. I think this evening I'll start putting the smaller things out, then later in the week when hubby has some time off, we'll pull out the tree. The other positive is, I get to spend a little time in my craft room! I also got an early Christmas gift, a new PC. My desktop computer just died a few weeks ago leaving me with only my laptop to work with, which don't get me wrong, I am grateful to have, but Holy slowness! Anyhoo, I now have a new desktop that I have been doing the windows updates, downloading antivirus and all that good stuff. Oh, and learned that Microsoft retired Windows Movie Maker! Rut Ro...that is what I use for video editing! So, either I learn to use something else, or use the laptop and accept the fact that it will take 24-36 hours to upload tutorials...hmmmm?
Anyway, enough rambling. I want to share a cute card I did for the challenge on my FB page using the awesome stamp set, Christmas in the Making.
I love the softness of these non-traditional Christmas colors. For the card base, I used Soft Sky measuring 8.5" x 5.5" folded in half. I layered it with a piece of the DSP from the Christmas Around the World collection cut 4" x 5.25" and wrapped with a piece of White Classic Weave Ribbon and tied into a bow. I then cut 3 circles with the second largest Stitched Shapes circle framelit from Soft Sky, Whisper White and Basic Gray. Finally, I cut a second piece of Whisper White using the second smallest stitched circle and stamped the sentiment, from the Christmas in the Making stamp set, in Basic Gray ink.
Quick and simple. I hope you enjoyed today's card. Feel free to leave a comment below, I would love to read your thoughts.
