No Line Watercolor with Blended Seasons

Hello and Happy Tuesday!Today is such an exciting day...I get to register for OnStage Live in Orlando for November! I can't explain just how excited I am to go. It will be my first ever event in person so, I'm over the moon with excitement as this is the 30 Year celebration so, I know it's a BIG deal, HUGE even. Anyhoo, I digress.

Today I want to share a card with you that I did over the weekend. I decided to play with the "no line watercolor" technique and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Of course, I am madly in love with the Blended Seasons stamp set so of course I reached for that. I firmly believe the reason I love this set so much is it's versatility. It's appropriate for any occasion, any time of the year. All you need to do is change up your color combinations and run with it. Here, I used the new Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 collection, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry along with my Aqua Painters.
The trick here is to stamp the image using a light colored ink such as Sahara Sand using 2nd generation stamping and moisten the image before applying the color, but don't make it too wet (keep a paper towel handy to blot up excess water) then add color and blend out the colors with the Aqua Painter, and add more color where needed and blend again. Be sure to watch the video where I walk you through the steps.

The measurements for recreating this card are Balmy Blue CS card base 4.25" x 11" scored and folded at 5.5" Night of Navy CS panel 4" x 5.25" and Watercolor Paper 3.75" x 5". I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White CS .75" wide and long enough to accommodate my sentiment using Night of Navy ink. I bannered one end and adhered it to the bottom left corner of the card.

This card was a lot of fun to do and really didn't take much time at all to complete. I truly hope this card encourages you to pull out those Watercolor pencils. Don't let them intimidate you and see how amazing they are to work with. I promise you will love them!
Happy Stamping,

Color Your Seasons Fall Falling Leaves

Hello and Happy Thursday! Well we have another week winding down and today I have a fun card to share with you using the awesome, but limited edition, Color Your Seasons bundle. This card has a fun Fall twist, using Stampin' Blends to color the leaves.
I began with a standard card base of Crumb Cake, measuring 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25".  My Stampin' Blend colors are, the light and dark Daffodil Delight and light and dark Cherry Cobbler after I stamped my image onto a Whisper White panel of 5" x 3.75" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then layered it onto a Merry Merlot panel measuring 5.1/8" x 3.7/8". This card went together rather quickly including the coloring. I added a button from the True Gentleman Button collection along with a double bow made from Linen Thread to finish it off. This truly is a stamp set that will carry you from season to season and has so many possibilities that it really should be on you list of MUST haves!
Happy Stamping,

White Wash with the Color Your Seasons Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all off to an amazing week. It's been a busy one so far for me, that's for sure. My full-time work sure does take up a lot of my time so, I have to sneak in crafty episodes wherever I can.

Tomorrow the limited edition bundle, Color Your Seasons goes live for customers. I just LOVE this bundle and you will too. The dies provide stitching on the inside and outside, so your die cut piece has stitching and so does the negative so you can use that as a decorative piece too! And this stamp set, the images are just stunning! I love them, but most especially this gorgeous floral. If anyone happens to know what flower this is, I would love to know, so please comment below what you believe this flower to be because, I think my garden really needs this added to it!

Anyhoo, I did play with this image after I completed my demonstrator swaps,(I will share once all the swaps are returned in the next few days) and I decided to do a white wash. I started with a panel of Basic Black that I prepped with my Embossing Buddy and stamped with my Versamark ink. I heat embossed the image with Whisper White embossing powder and then to color the image in, I used a watercolor paintbrush and the Whisper White Craft Ink re-inker. I carefully painted in each petal, the leaves and stems, being careful to remain inside the embossed lines. I allowed the image to dry, and then I ran it through the Big Shot with the largest of the layering stitched shapes from the Stitched Seasons Framelits collection. I added this to a Lovely Lipstick card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Whisper White that I hand trimmed with my paper snips and added to the front with another Dimensional. As I continue to look at it, the more I think I need to add a little bling with a few Basic Rhinestones? What do you think? But, overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Stay tuned, as tomorrow this bundle will be available along with a special limited edition release of some brand new watercolor pencils (although I didn't use them in this project, I included the link for them below)! These will be while supplies last so don't wait, they will not last long!

Happy Stamping,
