White Wash with the Color Your Seasons Bundle

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all off to an amazing week. It's been a busy one so far for me, that's for sure. My full-time work sure does take up a lot of my time so, I have to sneak in crafty episodes wherever I can.

Tomorrow the limited edition bundle, Color Your Seasons goes live for customers. I just LOVE this bundle and you will too. The dies provide stitching on the inside and outside, so your die cut piece has stitching and so does the negative so you can use that as a decorative piece too! And this stamp set, the images are just stunning! I love them, but most especially this gorgeous floral. If anyone happens to know what flower this is, I would love to know, so please comment below what you believe this flower to be because, I think my garden really needs this added to it!

Anyhoo, I did play with this image after I completed my demonstrator swaps,(I will share once all the swaps are returned in the next few days) and I decided to do a white wash. I started with a panel of Basic Black that I prepped with my Embossing Buddy and stamped with my Versamark ink. I heat embossed the image with Whisper White embossing powder and then to color the image in, I used a watercolor paintbrush and the Whisper White Craft Ink re-inker. I carefully painted in each petal, the leaves and stems, being careful to remain inside the embossed lines. I allowed the image to dry, and then I ran it through the Big Shot with the largest of the layering stitched shapes from the Stitched Seasons Framelits collection. I added this to a Lovely Lipstick card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Whisper White that I hand trimmed with my paper snips and added to the front with another Dimensional. As I continue to look at it, the more I think I need to add a little bling with a few Basic Rhinestones? What do you think? But, overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Stay tuned, as tomorrow this bundle will be available along with a special limited edition release of some brand new watercolor pencils (although I didn't use them in this project, I included the link for them below)! These will be while supplies last so don't wait, they will not last long!

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope you're all having a fantastic start to your week. I know I've been a bit crazed the last few days, planning and prepping for my monthly card class tomorrow while keeping up with hubby while he was off for a long 3 day weekend. I love him to pieces but boy, he makes it hard to get stuff done! Anyone else with that issue?

Anyhoo, I have a really cute project to share with you. It's an adorable mini gift bag created with 2 pieces of designer series paper, and if you want to see how I do it, join me this evening at 7 PM EST on my Facebook page for a FB Live where I will walk you step by step on how to create these adorable little gift bags. They are perfect for presenting a piece of jewelry, small embellishments and any other small gift. Seriously, they are just adorable.

What you need:
2 pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring (DSP) 6" x 6"
A strong adhesive (I recommend Tear n Tape)
A scoring tool (either the Stampin' Trimmer with scoring blade or the Stampin' Score Tool)

Score both pieces of DSP at 1.5"; 1.5"; 1.5"; and 0.75" so that is 3 sides at 1.5" and 1 side 0.75". Fold on all of the score lines and adhere the 0.75" score line down so that you see the contrasting side of the paper. Then, using your paper snips, cut up on the score lines below the folded edge up to the parallel score line; add adhesive to the tabs you created and adhere to the inside of the larger tab, this will create the bag bottom. Now repeat for the second piece of DSP. Add adhesive to the outside of the sides on one of the 1/2 bags you've created. Slip this one inside the other and adhere the 2 parts together, creating a bag. Then decorate as you wish. In this case, I added a button and Linen Thread with a mini Glue Dot.

That completes our project for today, but remember, if you would like to watch me demo this project, stop by my Facebook page for the Live Demo with me, Katrina from Katrina's Kreative Heart at www.facebook.com/katrinaskreativeheart

Abstract Impressions - It's All About Texture

Hey all! Happy Saturday! I've been a busy bee getting ready for my team meeting this afternoon. I love getting together with my team to spend time stamping. It's a great opportunity to learn from one another and it's a great bonding experience. And I would love to have you join us and the month of July is absolutely, hands down the BEST time to join right now. Why? Well because in addition to the usual awesome deal of getting $125 in product YOU CHOOSE, you now also get to choose an entire color family of ink pads! That's 10 FREE ink pads! And the only thing you need to decide there is, do you like Neutrals, Regals, Brights or Subtles? So, seriously, you should give this some serious consideration. And, did I mention, there is NO OBLIGATION beyond purchasing the starter kit....unless you decide to keep getting the awesome 20% discount that has the potential to become a 25% discount. So while you let that sink in for a minute, let me share with you a gorgeous card I made with the Abstract Impressions.

Now, to be completely transparent, I totally CASEd this card from a swap I received from a very talented demonstrator, Pam Steckman. I just changed up the colors and the sentiment.

Links to all supplies used found below.

Measurements:

Standard Card base of Mint Macaron: 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.25"
Shaded Spruce: 4" x 5.25"
Whisper White: 2" x 4.5"; 0.5" x length of sentiment
Soft Sea Foam: Scrap
Garden Impressions DSP: 2" x 4.5"

Directions:

Run the Shaded Spruce piece through the Big Shot with the Springtime Impressions corner image Thinlits die and the embossing mats (you only want to emboss the image, not cut it) and adhere it to the card front. Next, punch the tops of the Whisper White and the DSP with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. Stamp the abstract butterfly (3-step stamping) 1st with Soft Sea Foam, 2nd with Mint Macaron and 3rd, the body also with Mint Macaron randomly over the Whisper White piece. Layer the DSP behind the Whisper White at an angle so that you see the DSP peeking out from behind. Adhere these tags to the card front. Next, run a scrap piece of Soft Sea Foam through the Big Shot with the butterfly die from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits collection and once you remove all the "bits" adhere this to the card front using a mini Stampin' Dimensional. Next, stamp the sentiment, Thank You from the same stamp set, onto a piece of Whisper White that is 0.5" wide and long enough to accommodate the sentiment and add that across the butterfly with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, make a double bow with the White and Silver Bakers Twine and add to the tags with a mini Glue Dot and sprinkle a few of the small Mint Macaron dots from the Faceted Dots collection.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to read them. In the meantime, if you like tutorials such as this one and would like to receive them directly to your in box, join my weekly mailing list by clicking here

Abstract Impressions Popped Up!

Hello and Happy Thursday! I hope you're all having an amazing week! I got to play some more in the craft room this week in between working on swaps and planning and prepping for my team meeting coming up this weekend. Speaking of team meeting, don't forget that this month joining the Stamping family is over the top awesome! The starter kit is ALWAYS the best deal in the catalog with choosing $125 in product of your choice for just $99 and free shipping, but for the month of July only, you can add an entire family collection of ink pads to your order! Do you feel like Regals? Or how about Subtles?
Maybe you're a neutral sort? Oh, well maybe you prefer to get your hands on the 10 current In-Colors? The choice is yours, but the bottom line is, you get 10 FREE ink pads! Hello, no brainer if you ask me!

Anyhoo, today's project was a fun one and I was able to get a video uploaded to go with it. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I would love to read them. So, this card is intended to make the recipient feel tons better when they open it. It's a simple card packed full of the fun factor with this tiny pop up tissue box. Yes, you read that right. It has a little pop up tissue box that literally pops up when you open the card and offers the recipient a Kleenex! Now who wouldn't smile when they receive that? Cold or no cold, that's gonna make you happy! I promise!
Ok, to recreate this card, you will need a standard card base of 8.5" x 5.5" scored and folded at 4.5"in Petal Pink cardstock. Randomly stamp the "rose" image from the Abstract Impressions stamp set in Petal Pink ink for a tone on tone look. Next, cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock, 5" x 3" and using a scoring tool such as the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score the 5" side at 1", 2.5" and 3.5". Using the smallest oval in the Layering Ovals collection, cut out an opening in the 1st "wide" section that will be your tissue box top. Then, using the same "rose" image from the stamp set, randomly stamp it in Poppy Parade. Fold on all of the score lines and add Tear n Tape, one strip to the small side that will adhere to the top, and two strips  the wider section that will be the box bottom. Fold the tissue box in half, line the cut edge to the card base fold and adhere to the card, bottom of the box to the card base back and the box side to the card base front (See video for clearer instructions) - this makes the tissue box "pop up" when opening the card. Now, stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card (tip - use the tissue box as a guide to align your block and sentiment).
Next, stamp the sentiment from Dandelion Wishes onto a scrap of Whisper White and punch it out using the 2" circle punch and layer it with a piece of Poppy Parade punched out with the Starburst punch. Finally wrap a piece of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon around the card front and tie in a knot. Layer the sentiment piece over the ribbon toward the right side with a couple of Dimensionals.

To decorate a coordinating envelope to complete this project, mask off the front of the envelope with a couple of sticky notes. Randomly stamp the envelope flap with the rose image and Petal Pink ink.

And that my friends completes today's card. I hope you enjoyed this one. I know I did. Have an awesome day!
Happy Stamping,
