Candle Stamping

Hello and Happy Thursday! I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful Fall day. Today I want to share with you another project I have been working on for my up coming craft fairs. If you're anything like me, you want cute items to share but you need them to be quick and easy to reproduce, especially if you want to have enough to display on your craft tables. So, this project is perfect for you.
I picked these candles up at my local Hobby Lobby as they were 50% off....can we say, "winning"! Yes, I was VERY excited when I learned they were on sale...that made it the perfect sale item for me. So, I grabbed a bunch of them and headed for my craft room.
I pulled out my white tissue paper and began to stamp some different designs. Very important tip, look at your tissue paper and make note of the shiny side verses the flat paper side, you want to do all of your stamping on the flat paper side (the shiny side will pool the ink and it won't really dry causing smearing and messes)
Finally, trim around your stamped image to remove any excess tissue paper. Lay it over your candle in the exact location you want your image to appear. Then take a piece of wax paper and wrap around the image and the candle, and taking care to keep your fingers away from the heat, using your heat tool, melt the image into the candle. Once, cooled, gently peel back the wax paper to reveal you beautiful image.
In this example I used the Merry Patterns stamp set. This is only available until the 31st of this month to anyone that either spends $300 or hosts a party totaling $300. And it's so totally worth it. This stamp set is just beautiful.
In this second example, I used the Musical Season stamp set. This happens to be one of my most favorite sets in the holiday catalog. I just adore the little drummer boy...maybe because Little Drummer Boy happens to be one of my favorite Christmas Carols of all time?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to try candle stamping for yourself. Again, it's quick, it's easy and it's a great way to dress up a plain white or cream colored candle.
